Where's our next 7

Short kicking game is terrible. Rest of his game is pretty good. Just has to spend hour after hour after hour practicing kicks that will get us repeat sets. Anyone close to the big 3 in Melbourne say it's their work ethic that has made them great. With hard work I reckon Brooks can lead us for years.

I know hes an absolute muppet but Moses looks the better half albeit playing in a better team right now, but perhaps we should have cut Brooks free and kept Moses. Obviously there's reason's for why we did what we did seeing as though im not privy to them i can only call it how i see it, Brooks $550 Moses $750 theres a bigger gulf in class than $200k.

Moses is just as bad if not worse than Brooks.

Defence wins you premierships and Brooks is 100 times better in that department

I have a feeling Tyson Gamble might be the answer in 2018 if the running man pulls another hami next year.

What a stupid bloody comment. How many games have you seen Tyson Gamble play??

You may have to eat your comments next year, for starters if Brooks gets injured Gamble or Marshall will have to replace him, whats so stupid about that, please explain your comment?

Take a good look at Cleary, then take a good look at Brooks, and then tell us that Brooks is improving, much as I'd like there to be an improvement in him, there isn't one. He's not a rookie any more, but still plays like one

That is the problem, everyone makes excuses for him, well no more, he debuted in 2013 and he has run out of excuses in 2015, but somehow he keeps getting a free pass

I do have other things in my life so I can't sit all day and waste time on this site.
But to answer your question.
First- if Brooks is unavailable for whatever reason Marshall would almost certainly come in on experience alone.
Second- Tyson Gamble has been bought on POTENTIAL, first thing he has to do on arrival is prove himself.
Third- When Brooks resign for a further 2 years just about everyone on this site applauded.
Fourth- please let me know what Brooks is doing that is so wrong it beats me.
Fifth- As I've said a few times, why don't you and other Brooks critics go down to Concord and have a run, you obviously know what's required to be an NRL halfback.

Here we go again. I'll try to explain again.

Cleary is a better player than Brooks. The fact that Cleary is playing awesome at 19/20 has nothing to do with whether Brooks is improving or not.

You need to read my comment again, I said if Brooks get injured, "meaning"…. Brooks will be first option at the 7 next year, I wasn't putting him down but he's having problems with his hami..

2\. Gamble might be an answer.." meaning" I'm not saying his better than Brooks but if that potential you are referring to peaks next year, then it's possible he could hold a spot in first grade and surprise everyone..THAT IS NOT A BLOODY STUPID COMMENT..

3\. It's not a given that Marshall rolls straight into the 7 if Brooks is injured, he may still use him from the bench who knows.

Brooks might be the worse no 7 in the game right now, if not..he'd probably be in the bottom 3..this is a good scenario for Gamble to be facing if his trying to make a name for himself..I don't mind logical reply's or a sensible counter argument, but sweeping insults are not necessary especially if they are not warranted.

I think you misinterpreted that post 17 and chose the wrong one to come down hard on. He has a feeling…..might........if, so basically just hoping Gamble can step up if needed, as am I.

im sure we all mean well for the bloke but sitting here and picking out every single thing he did wrong isnt gonna help. unfortunately, we're comparing him to people who are either 10 years his senior or of freakish talent like cleary.

he's improving and from what i can see, he's still keen to learn a lot. Brooks to me has always been the type of player who thinks twice before doing something and as games go by, he'll start to think faster and do things faster.

and please please please let's not chop and change our spine like the dogs, titans etc. have done this year. our strength this year has been a stable spine.

it's good that brooks and reynolds will have competition from marshall and gamble but having different halfbacks each game won't do us any good.

Dont bother Fox. You are arguing with a butthurt shill. You can not reason with that type.

I hear ya Stryker,…... B.T.W, I forgot to mention, I grew up in concord and played for concord united.... I have kicked many a football on their training facility and put on a Tigers jumper in 1984 it doesn't make me an expert, but the assumption about me knowing nothing about concord or playing the game is wrong.

To me Brooks simply hasn't improved his game since arriving in the NRL 4 years ago. He can (and always has) been able to set up some tries with a nice pass but his defense, kicking game, decision making, game management and general execution of plays have not improved.

Next year is massive for him and whether he goes on to have a first grade NRL career or goes on to be one of those backup halfbacks that drift around between various clubs nsw cup squads playing a couple of games a season when injuries hit.

Maybe a full off season from Cleary will suddenly teach him where to stand on the field and what to do with the ball in certain situations but to me a lot is stuff players have in their gut instincts, they have vision and can see what their team mates and opponents are likely to do based on their body position etc. Brooks does not have these qualities, but I sure hope he can find them real quick!
