Which games will we win , to make the 8

I think the next three weeks will tell where we are and that happens to be against the top 3 sides on the ladder so if we jag two wins Penrith and Dogs and Manly get us then we make the eight if all three are losses then I say blood the youth and get some traction for a big 2015.

We need to chance our arm in attack and see how we go.

I think your spot on , i would do the same.

30 points is likely to be needed to make the top 8, especially if we have a poor F/A. That means 4 more wins from remaining 7 games.

We have the following run home:
Round 20 Dragons (bottom 8). ANZ
Round 21 Storm (top 8), Campbelltown
Round 22 Cowboys (bottom 8), Townsville
Round 23 Roosters (top 8), Leichhardt
Round 24 Bulldogs (top 8), ANZ (away)
Round 25 Raiders (bottom 8), Canberra
Round 26 Sharks (bottom 8), Leichhardt

So that is:
- 4 home games, plus the Bulldogs at ANZ.
- 4 games against teams currently outside the top 8

According to this, we are in a position to make the finals, if we play good enough. In each of the next 5 games, we should be at least some chance of winning, and we would expect to be favourites to win the last 2 games.

This next game against the Dragons is so vitally important too, considering they are so close to us. Win that one, and we give ourselves a little more breathing space. Lose, and it all may become too hard…

We are running out of outside backs which is a bit of a worry. We've also got a bit of a makeshift spine as well.

Dragons is a MUST win.

Storm, Cowboys, Roosters and Bulldogs will all be tough. We could easily head to Canberra on a cold quiet Saturday night having lost 4 (or 5) on the bounce. That's no easy game. And by round 26 it could all be over by then anyway.

We need our forwards to dominate in each game to be in with a chance.

I can't see it happening to be honest.

I think we'll beat the Dragons Storm Cowboys Dogs Raiders and Sharks…

We got this...

Seeing that I'm going the Cowboys are goners

Add to that Dragons ,Sharks, Raiders

Now SOO is out of the way , part of me would be quite happy to see Smith and Cronk suspended for a week after next weeks game

Brisbane have a tough draw coming up. They play Melbourne, Manly, Canterbury and Souths. They could really crash and burn with their coach being punted.
The Warriors have a good run playing Canberra, Newcastle and the Sharks over the next 5 weeks. Hopefully some of the bottom teams can help us out with a few upsets.

28 points and up otherwise forget it.

Anything is a bonus from hear on in , 4 more wins will guarantee semi footy , i think our best chances for a win are Dragons , Raiders ,Sharks and need to have upset win vs The Storm at home , Cowboys away.
My fear is vs the bottom sides we usually struggle and turn up for the top 4 sides .
If we had a fully fit side , i would be saying we are certainties , it will be touch and go.
Yesterday's upset win has given us all life again for the year .

Look just had a look at the draw and the smokey in all of this is the Eels

They play

Titans
Sharks
Raiders
Dogs (at home )
Manly
Knights
Raiders

I wish we had that draw

Hayne in his current form could beat 5 of those sides off his own back ,that's my concern

Hayne can only do so much , when you have a halfback by the name of Sandow you are doomed , Hayne couldn't save them last week vs the Rabbits at Parra Stadium .

we end with 2 soft games that we SHOULD win, that could be the difference but I think we shot ourselves in the foot with the bad F and A

Round 1 vs Dragons… (Gave away the lead)
Round 4 vs Warriors... (Wedged in between wins against Souths and Manly??)
Round 8 vs Titans. (Worst of the year so far)

6 Dropped points. They are all games in which we could've considered and even chance (or more) of winning. That's not even including Broncos at Ctown and Panthers at LO around origin time.

That's where we shot ourselves in the foot.

we had a billion injuries in the warriors game. dragons game was bad but we learnt A LOT from that game i thought. it was due to that game where braith and robbie accepted their mistakes and passed the ball to brooks more often. that loss was a blessing in disguise imo.

titans game was very bad. i agree, worst loss.
broncos game was pretty even, the ref decided who won at the end. both teams deserved to win.
panthers game? we had our best two players out and panthers were at full strengh (a top 2 team)- we were always gonna lose that.

other losses against roosters, souths and manly were very much expected. the margin in those 3 games as well as the wins over raiders, sharks and knights by a couple of points each is the reason for our terrible f/a.

I think we have only been favourites a couple games this year. The home game vs Titans, and the Sharks game. Maybe one or two more than that. I don't think we should feel too bad about some of the losses we have had this year. Balance that off against some of the wins (Manly, Souths, Bulldogs) where we have been very long odds (over $3). We have done a lot better than most people expected (and continue to expect).
