This is another example of where a draft would give supporters of teams like the Wests Tigers hope. Staring down the barrel of a likely last place finish, our reward would be first pick in the off season. Imagine if we added Sam Walker to our ranks, instead of the rich (Roosters) getting richer? We would need a pool of players at the lower level to draft from and they would have to be managed separately to the NRL teams, like the college football is to the NFL, but it would be something to keep us excited/hopeful. Would also need RLPA sign off, so players don't/can't challenge it. The salary cap is not working to balance out squads.

we don't need to go to market. I really believe Madden is worth giving some time. builds pressure and doesn't overplay his hand, plus he's very tough for a small bloke. having Hastings or Doueihi next to him will be good for him as well. if we can give him some time in the top grade this year and then give him a full preseason as our starting 7 the next, I think he'll come good.
Your love affair with Brooks is quite impressive
Why bring Garner into it, when you could have said Brooks

Fullback is a significantly bigger problem right now than halfback. If Laurie finds form we are a lot better but to be honest Laurie in form is a low level NRL fullback.
I'm joking.
That door is closed, forever.
Still a better 7 than Brooksy though.
Imagine if the club locked em in, Penrith style.

I completely agree with the argument that the numbers on their back don't matter but I think we need to change Brooks role at the very least. I'd give him the 6 jumper and maybe it takes some of the pressure off him.

Not much has been said about the worst performing forward - Twal.
Cherrington was rubbish....
Club tried to lock Moses in - They all had contracts long enough to sign them
if they wanted to be here....
Although, I do wish the club waited longer, We'd have been no worse without all those panic buys we made...

I reckon we have better replacements now. Hastings and Madden are both good options. Doueihi can play at 6.
I don't have the answer but Brooks simply doesn't deliver under pressure. He isn't that bad but we need players that perform under pressure.
Something needs to change.
I wouldn't say Cherrington was rubbish.
Just didn't have the club back him and faded away into Q Cup / Retail work, wilderness.
Had some slick passing Liddle could only dream of.
Rather a Grant type at 9... but yeah, that's still a serviceable spine that would win a lot of games.
