Who Should Coach the Wests Tigers

According to today's The Australian newspaper (Brent Read) Madge looks like staying and Pascoe is going..

Pascoe is not without fault but if that is the case I would like to know how Pascoe contributed to the lack of effort in our on field performances?

Sneens as head coach for 2 years. Bring back Payton with Robbie (forwards) and Hodgson (backs) as assistants with potentially Benji as specialty halves coach. Let them develop the juniors and induct them into what it means to play for the WT means. The identity that has gone missing.

Payton has no clue

Nooo, that's not true.

Payton gets some things, but misses others. Payton would be an awesome forwards or defensive coach.
He gets structure (I don't know how, but he gets it). He gets how to work forwards.
He will fail at the Cows because he doesn't get the whole team position thing. Likewise Madge, gets centers gets attack, but does not get defense or what people should be working on.

I am thinking we need 50/50 Wests tigers players and outsiders.
Sironen, Payton or Farah as our defensive coach.
Pat Richards or Hodgson as a playmaker/tricks/attack coach.
We need someone external as the halves/spine coach. We don't get it, we never ever have.

If Cooper Cronk could be bought, for any money up to 1 million I would sign him immediately as head coach.
He gets spine, he gets structure and he gets why little things are done.

Agree not head coach material

If that’s the case, there’s a number of ways he may have contributed to lowering team morale. One area of responsibility would be recruitment? There’s no doubting he’s been hands on with recruitment.

watching the doco its interesting to see him in a more intimate level. I don't know if he has the right person to lead the club. Just the bits and pieces of listening to his approach i.e. how he was responding to Harry T and giving him all tigers merch. He said something along the lines of "awkward conversation he will have asking Harry for $"

I just perhaps would've thought if you have built a strong relationship with someone with as much affinity and association with our club the relationship wouldn't really need to be awkward to ask for $ not provide him with random gifts. But hey, i dunno. Im just a random fan

Agree that interview was awkward, and it didn’t have to be.
The question Harry asked was interesting..’do you think the coach is training the players too hard?’
? the quizzical look on Harry was priceless, as he couldn’t help but notice, yet another new hairstyle on the CEO.

I believe that awkward conversation related to Harry telling Pascoe something like "but they don't like him" which was also recorded in the documentary without any reference to who Harry was referring to. My guess is Harry was referring to Maguire or Lee H. If Maguire remains as coach I hope Harry stills retains his sponsorship .

Tim Sheens - coaching director
Ciraldo - coach
Madge - assistant coach or vice versa
trifecta ?

I know Ciraldo is an international coach, having coached Italy, but he's only 37. Why would he rather come to the Wild Wests instead of returning to the Sharks?

True but the sharks don’t have a centre of excellence & we do ?

Because the Sharks have just signed the only other young coach with more hype than Ciraldo for 3 years. Sharks will not be looking for a new coach for a while.

Clubs likely to be looking for a coach are;

Parra (maybe)
Tigers
NQ

Nothing else likely in the next 2 years.

Ciraldo didn’t go to Sharks because he wanted to honour his Penrith contract for 2022. History tells us that Tigers board can’t wait a season.

Payten should be an assistant coach at Penrith ...if anyone needs to be whiteanted it's Iv ...

Can't believe how popular the incumbent is..What next, keep Brooks? :-(

I don’t believe he is.
Speak with WT’s fans outside this forum and you will find the narrative is very different.

Didn’t Gus advise him not to take it. Seem to remember hearing him say on commentary once but not sure he was talking about the sharks job.
If that was the case he would be looking at how their roster has panned out and think to himself I could of been there

So, is Madge gone ? Or have we seen reason and realised the guy needs assistants born this side of 1970 ? Not being ageist , but the super coach worked this out a long time ago . You need guys , who’ve played with and against modern tactics . Plus it immediately stops players making excuses like “what would you know” .

Who are the smartest assistants / up and coming coaches , who could make the difference ?
Does anyone have any ideas ? There’s the Penrith Cabal types , but is there a Demetriou type , grinding away coaching Shellharbour cutters ?
