Who should Madge's assistant coaches be for 2022?

Don’t think anyone has mentioned him but what about billy slater as defence coach. Current ideas and from a great system
Very good at reading the other teams attack.
Helps Laurie in all aspects of his game aswell .Would probably have some good advice for the halves aswell

Neil Henry
Jason Ryles

Haven't seen Ryles in the Storm box at all this year, don't know where he is at the moment. He would probably be a good candidate as one of the assistants.
Ryles
John Morris
Matt Johns (consultant)
Matthew Elliot
Get that group together along with what we will already have with Kimmorley and Farah.
Whoever we end up with Madge really needs to embrace his assistants and trust in their input, he can't just go it alone he needs more tactical input.....Madge's forte is passion.

Ok all, now that Madge is safe for now who do you all feel should become his assistants for 2022 and what roles do you see them performing?

e.g. Defence coach, Attach coach, Halves coach, Assistant coach etc.

Why not go hard $$ at Ciraldo anyway? We need
an assistant who will connect with players and attract new talent.

I was thinking that today, too. Club’s finances are tops so have money to spend on coaching and support. Ciraldo was saying he was wondering if his message at the Panthers was starting to lose its edge just because of the amount of time he’s been there. Offer him $150K more than he is on at Penrith to come and be an assistant coach at WT and freshen himself up with a new environment and players. He has a good reputation with player relationships and defence so big ticks on what we need. Sell him the idea that we gave some great young talent you can help groom and develop without the stress and spotlight of being head coach. Could attract other young talent to the club. If he can do it well then there is strong option to step up to head coach when things are looking rosier and he feels more confident about taking it on. Low risk, increased salary and plenty of upside for him with a potential succession plan if it suits both parties. If he can’t / won’t take the step in a few years we still get a good assistant coach.

After seeing Robbie in the doco, his passion and commitment to the club is crucial moving forward. I don't know if he is ready to be an assistant but i would love to see his role increased.

He'd need to have certificate to a certain level? If so then great, if not, until then continue to run the water and do the on-field motivations etc.

I think I read on here somewhere that he has the certification. Could be wrong about that.

If as you say @mike he has the certification, he wont be running the water out for much longer.
The fact that Madge has such a high level of respect for Farah [to send him out to play with a broken leg in that disastrous game at L.O. against Cronulla] I reckon Farah may be Our Reserve Grade Coach next year, with Gardiner as an assistant coach in the box with Madge.
Edit...But as @Snozza said...Farah to the 20's first rather than reserve grade.

has Farah mentioned he desires to be a coach?

I think running the water for firsts / assistant for 20s or KOE is a start.

Someone mentioned Spud Carroll - I like his passion and he always talks up the Tigers juniors during commentary- he’s just thrown his hat in the ring (as defensive coach) - he has a pulse, unlike the assistant muppets we had to endure in the coaches box this year

Has it actually been confirmed that they have been moved on.
Shane Millard and Wayne Collins. I’ve only seen Collins Name mentioned in a Hooper article.
Has anything offical come from the club?

How many assistant coach positions are vacant?

He was working with the England Rugby Union side.

I would love Madge to get Laurie Daley in the mix however his job with SportsBet, i assume is the sticking point.

Not sold on Dean Pay tbh. I would think someone like David Fairleigh, Matthew Head or James Webster would be decent choices. Even bringing back Gareth Ellis who is assistant coach at Hull might be a good choice.

Cooper Cronk is my pick. I know its a pipe dream but we need to get the best out there. He is in touch with the modern game, has been coached by the best at all levels, can help out our halves big time, and can shut down the dribblers on Nrl 360 who unfortunately set the narrative in the footy world. Surely we can do better than Spud - he has packed into one to many scrums in my opinion.

Coaching staff;
@TIGERPOWER @PJ @Spartan117 @hobbo1

I'd be trying to steal as many support staff around Melbourne, roosters squads.
Least they know they might get promoted mid nxt year😄

A name that hasn't been floated up as an assistant is Mark O'Meley. At his peak there weren't many harder than him and he has gone on to forge a pretty handy coaching career. As of 12months ago Newie were very close to signing him in an assistant capacity (not sure if that happened). Has recent runs on the board coaching elite juniors which is handy.

'O'Meley. who played 201 top grade games with North Sydney, Northern Eagles, Bulldogs and Sydney Roosters, 15 Tests for the Kangaroos and 10 Origin games for NSW, has been working with the NRL and NSWRL and has coached the Blues' Under 18's and Under 20's squads in recent seasons.'

He was a weapon on the field....
Always liked him. 👍🏻

It doesn't matter who the assistants are because Madge is a self righteous type of person who struggles to listen to advice, you just have to look at his team and position selections 🤦‍♂️

Yeah same, surely would be worth looking into his availability and interest. He's probably already worked with some of the younger lads in the team at junior origin level too such as Stef, Blore and Madden.
