Who to throw money at?

We have heaps of backs and 1/2s, we need to invest in two large back rowers. we need to go back to england and grab some of there better back rowers, westwood is one and there is a few more and im sure potter knows all of them.

We need an engine room or our talented yet untested halves will be remembered as unfulfilled talent. I'm obviously not talking about the front rowers either but we need some Greg bird, Choc watmough kind of back rowers who just compete on everything and hate to lose! What we wouldn't give for Gareth to still be here.

i would rather we put an offer of around 250-275 for hodkinson a very solid halfback and yes while we have the young kids coming through i highly doubt they will all be ready for round 1 next year. maurice blair could be another astute buy that runs and tackles hard out wide. Siosioe Vave from the storm would be another good prop to put into the system along with resigning and extending our junior talent is what we need

Throw money at nobody at all.

Make astute buys, buys that will build a professional club culture to nurture our younger guys and have the win at all costs mentality

Correct. Don't be like a kid in a candy store. Mayer said in the Inside Wests Tigers thing we'd wait until 2015 to play the market. It's already been said there's no one decent for next year so let's just be patient.

Kieran Foran. Haha never gonna happen but one could wish.

I actually don't think we need to look to sign anyone in the halves. Anasta can play 6 next year with Brooks at 7, with an aim to blood Moses off the bench to get him ready for 2015 when Anasta is gone.

I'd be looking to sign some line-bending backrowers and beef up our pack. Someone like Boyd Cordner, Having a big pack who can make the metres would make the young halves transition into first grade much easier.

In saying this, someone like Lachlan Coote may be a decent back up option for the young halves, also covers fullback. Release Moltzen of course and he could be a handy utility.

Suddenly Anasta and Moltzen are genuine options for next season. There isn't much left on the market outside Williams or a Folau.

Correct. Moltzen needs to stay. He will now assume the crown from Benji as the forum's whipping boy.

The only back I'd throw money at is GI. The only half I'd throw money at is Keiran Foran. The only forward I'd throw money at is Sam Burgess.

Anyone remember how old Foran and Cherry-Evans were in their first year as manly half and 5/8 ?

Exactly 2 years younger then they are right now.

Thought they had been there longer. Ah well the memory is getting old

Look at the Bulldogs, Roosters and Canberra back rowers and props. These teams have heaps of talent….too much and we could pick up another couple of potential 1st graders like Taupau. I nwould also consider resigning Matt Bell for 1 - 2 years, not costing much, quite cheap really for the work he does.

Fairly sure they got the record for youngest halves pairing ever to win a comp. First year playing together in first grade too.

What about Matt Prior he was 107 kg and 190 cm , a back rower, prop and sometime centre, has 110 games experience , played in a grand final and won. Could be a great addition to our backrow and is only 26\. Add some starch where we are probably weakest

If you think Moltzen's lucky to be a first grader wait til you see this guy. No thanks.

I thought they were young, that's why I asked the question. So the point I was going to make is if our young guys are good enough then the age won't really matter as its been done before?

With Benji on his way, I was thinking a 2 year contract for someone like Sam Wlliams from the raiders, but didn't realize he was going to the St George Steelers in 2014.

I think Anasta has to play at 5/8 with Siro to the 2nd row, brooks at 7 with a view to potentially giving Moses a few games later in the 2014 season if he's up to it.

Rangi Chase is the best half on the market

And he is average at best. Best to hang onto the money until there is actually someone of great value on the market.
