Who would you guys like as our defensive coach next year

It is convenient at a time when we have just been whacked again, emphasis is placed upon the "defensive coach" rather than the head coach. You would think for accountability the head coach should well be held accountable.

Do you post about anything other than Jason Taylor?

Maybe the moderators could create a sticky with your thoughts on Jason Taylor to save you having to post the same thing in every thread…

Regarding the defensive coach, it's hard to know who would be suitable. Thought Matthew Elliotts' defence analysis on fox a couple of months ago made alot of sense... Our defensive flaws seem to stem from the halves, it is difficult to carry them both whilst they are developing their defence... So anyone that can assist with that would be a good start.

Who is Andrew Webster anyway? I thought he was a journalist!

The only time in 17 years of existence that this team has had any decent defence at all was when Folkes was in charge of it, so please bring him back!!

His a mate of Brooks and Moses coached them in SG ball and has a bucket load of attacking trick shots. Maybe his just as good at defence, I don't know but to me it looks like we now have two attacking coaches and JT.

My concern too…. I cant recall if this is official or still just a rumour.
Hard to gauge a defense coach by his playing history.... Kidwell was lethal on the field himself.
Im will to bet the club will call the new bloke the forwards coach

either of these three - Matt Elliott, Steve Folkes and Wayne Pearce? what's John Cartwright doing?

Since the season for us finished over the weekend I have been thinking about the defensive coach ,Seeing this aspect of the team seems to be the most critical surely Taylor will go all out to find the best possible applicant .
This position will probable make or break Taylor to be frank so this selection would be the most critical IMO that he will make for next season ..the defensive issues are at an all time low ..so this is going to be very interesting who gets the gig.

Ha, this thread about a "defensive coach"! Whomever is the "d coach' reports to one person. Sort of like the military where a brigadier reports to a general of some kind. But we want to go down some path of identifying a particular appointment and it looks like for no other reason than to apportion blame to anyone but the head appointment. How about recognising there is one appointment ultimately responsible!

Refreshing that instead of blaming an underling, we make the head appointment responsible. Probably in the too hard basket (case)!

Threads about a new recruit paws….not blaming anyone.
Try looking outside the square, or in your case....the pixel

Im still unclear if Kidwell going is official ....or from one of those gossip journos?

How about Craig Fitzgibbon? Very good defender in his day and has a good head on his shoulders. Will be a first grade coach soon and if he does well as the defense coach could take the top job in the future. I rate him highly and reckon would be a great addition.

what about Tommy Raudonikus

Maybe you know Tommy personally but does he still hold up okay? Hasn't he had some big ops? Has the game moved on into more complexity since his days? I would guess so. He would have half the team in the sin bin by smoko - god bless the guy.

We dont need a "yes" man we need someone with the authority to tell the players how to tackle and hold defensive positions as others have said Ryan or Folkes would be good. What worries me is we could get another scapegoat for JT to sacrifice.

Wasn't this what what the whole of 2015 supposed to be a
All about??
