How embarrassing for us to have a bloke take over the 20s coaching role and let Matt Head go. The bloke was working in the back office at soufs and has been given the keys to our talented kids. This club never learns.

Well he was the SG Ball coach for Souths, just as Heady was SG Ball coach for Balmain. So very similar experience there.

Heady left for the Dragons. Yes ideally he should have got promoted with us, seemed a very astute coach. Whether we offered him the full time gig with us or not who knows. He was a Dragons junior so maybe he jumped at the chance to return 'home'.

Souths did pretty well, almost made the grand final. I wouldn't be too disappointed if Peters got the gig. Never seen his sides play though, but i'd assume souths juniors are fairly attacking.

By back office you mean he was doing exactly the same coaching role as Matt Head was with us but was also working for the club in Marketing. Peters coached Souths SG Ball and before that Harold Matts.

My guess is with Head he wanted to continue his media work which we wanted someone full time and after Kimmorley selling off our players and coaching at the same time someone who wasn't involved in the media and wasn't criticising the club publicly in their other job

So he's not coached a game and you're writing him off? According to RLW he coached Souths SG Ball this year.

PETERS SET TO SIGN FOR THE TIGERS

Written by THE MOLE , October 9, 2015
WESTS Tigers are set to sign former South Sydney halfback Willie Peters as their Holden Cup coach for next season.
>
Peters, who has an impressive coaching record in Souths’ junior league, coaching the SG Ball team to the finals this season.
>
He will replace Brett Kimmorley, who parted company with the Tigers last week.
>
Peters is expected to bring several promising Souths youngsters with him to Concord to work under Jason Taylor at the Tigers.
>
Peters, a former Souths first grade halfback, has also worked for the Bunnies in marketing in recent years.

From a mate of mine who is a massive Souths fan, their SG side improved dramatically and their pack of forwards were vicious. They finished 4th this year in the premiership and just lost to Cronulla 26-20 in the Grandfinal.

What an embarrassment it is to get him as a coach.

*rolls eyes*

Wooo Hooo…. We finally got a Willie...

Welcome aboard .....wish you great success to continue the strong performance of our 20's squads over the Years...

Not bad for a guess, Not real truth though….
Mat Head was never spoken to about any job with the club (Despite his smarts and success) after Potter left the club.
You'd have thought he'd at least have got a courtesy chat for his service. But apparently nothing....

Any opportunity to bag the Tigers & Taylor- some will jump all over.

Unfortunately in this case- Peters has shown a bit of ability in what he does, putting paid to the early critisism.

And if he's bringing some of those Souths juniors over- happy days.

Unfortunately, the misinformed perceive that as a pre-requisite to belong to the "in" crowd on these forums.

In saying that, the ones who carry their criticisms with excellent argument points are insightful and great for reading. Im neither for or against anyone at the club but when people post thoughtful and accurate arguments in any topic is the reason why I keep coming back to these forums.

I just pity the clueless few.
