Wooden Spoon 2021

I think I was a year early in this prediction.

Surely we must be favourites for the "Least wins in 2022" market now?

I don't know if we will win the spoon next year but if you surveyed 100 people, WT would win that prediction I reckon.

Maybe. It’d be hard to argue against that. Our thing though is to be bog average or slightly below over a season. We jag games, put in solid shifts and then drop our bundle.

Anyone find the odds of us winning the spoon this year?

The Sportsbet market of "least wins" seems to have gone.

We are $81 to win along with Warriors though, and next best Cowboys at $51.

Tigers are Spoon favourites on Ladbrokes at $2.50.
Warriors $3.25. Cowboys and Dragons at $11.

After the Warriors lap us at Leumeah on Friday we will be at unbackable odds.

I still don't think we'll get the spoon, surely there is someone worse than us, but I just haven't seen them yet.

if by any chance we get it this year[never]spank each other with it until a semi final, hows that 4 motivation Cc

I do remember when I worked for Centrebet in 2005 that we were favourites to win the spoon at the start of the season for $2.15, at this stage of the season now it would be $1.01.

Our only hope is a team gets busted for salary cap rort and has 20 points deducted…even than we are still a chance of the spoon…Bottom line who are we going to beat

I know mate, I have extreme doubts about us being able to beat anyone on what I have seen so far.

It just does my head in that we are so consistently bad year after year.

You go through a long pre-season just hanging out for the footy to start with great hopes and expectations of a more promising season than the last and after only 2 rounds it feels like the season is gone.

At least in the past there were times where we were a hope of making the 8 with games in the last or last few rounds deciding that outcome, but this year it just feels like we are gone just 2 rounds in.

This mob has got the ability to destroy the confidence and expectations of the most ardent fan, and it's not as if we have a Tommy Turbo or someone like that coming back in the next couple of weeks that is going to turns things around dramatically.

Maybe I'm jumping the gun with my miserable thoughts and predictions but you just don't see too many bright things on the horizon with 2 of our better players leaving at the end of the season and being replaced with 2 very good signings for next season that you can't help but feel will destroy their careers/legacies over here with this bunch of losers that we call a team.

I received a members email yesterday talking things up as usual and advising that we had 19,000 members and after that performance yesterday I just can't imagine any more coming on board, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if many ask for a refund.

We’re definitely in contention but it’s round 2. Newcastle are on top of the ladder. Does anyone believe they will be minor premiers? No way. We’ve only gotta beat one team home and as the year unfolds there will be a few contenders emerge.
