Woods may have stayed if Ivan had come earlier

See ya Sharon….
Nothing but a soft overated primadonna.
The fact he is a junior hurts me to say it but he is grossly over rated

I think he is staying gossip is we offed him 750K a year for 4 years he is just waiting for the Dogs to blink and say we will top up the rest just go that was from a guy at junior footy today he is just waiting for the Dogs to pull the contract he can not say he is walking away will lose to much money

Also told Dogs players still upset Josh is leaving and Martin Taupau contract is a no go with the NRL

I think the Tigers will pick up one or two good players

hope we arent offering 750…. 450 would be more where we should be

Exactly - let the dogs sweat - offer to pay $450k of his contract and them to pick up the rest - otherwise let him go.

I don't want Woods back he's overpriced and overrated but he is still a good NRL player. He may flourish playing with a real forward pack where he is the 3rd best prop.
He has 3rd party pull if the Tigers are smart they long up a sponsor and sign him on closer to 500k.

No room on the bus , on your bike Sharon, you are useless. Gets the ball away twice a season, the rest of the season takes an eternity to play the ball allowing the defense to reset. The least passionate captain in Tigers history . Best swap of all time two for one deal.

You have been reading too many of Earl's posts I think. Nearly word for word.

Thanks for the info. A full stop or 2 wouldn't have gone astray. Taupau contract?

It's gossip but Manly over the cap if it's not 10 million have to shed players and Taupau only just got new contract the other month with upgrades it's in limbo but there are few players like that also

Player agents got greedy told players you will make so much money

I wouldn't think Manly would be over the cap as they save $1Mill from B Stewart and Matai

Yeah but they might have had to back end guys like Tom Trbojevic, Jake Trbojevic, Marty Taupau and Dylan Walker while they had Matai and B Stewart on the books taking up fat cap space. Plus the DCE salary doesn't help.

I thought that the NRL had banned back ended contracts. Can anyone confirm?

Yep bench prop on bench prop money.

He must be a smart man.

How do contracts work if the nrl won't register them - is the club obliged to top them up

Unless there is a special condition inserted that allowed the club to renege and which only a fool would sign, yes the club is liable for the contract amount.

Thx mate

One average game from Woods and some people here want the bus to run over him like a speed hump..go have a look at the 3,2,1,s over the last few weeks, he's been up there as one of our best players nearly every week.

I know I dont speak for all, but I think if Woods was to stay somehow, it is probably the biggest shot in the arm this club has had for a long time.

There will be those that say he is a plodder, a grub, a bigmouth, good riddance etc etc, thats fine.

I just think it would be a great look that someone wants to stay, the club is well run, well coached, and many players would be happy to see him stay. I suspect more people would be happy to see him stay than to see him go.

I dont think it will happen as the dogs would want to walk away without a black eye…....but stranger things have happened in this game. I think it is a bit of media hype just the same.

Except he doesnt want to stay. He has made that quite clear this year. If he changes his tune it will be because he will be worried about his career and earning potential on the open market. If he comes crawling back to us I hope Pascoe cuts our offer to him substantially. He does not deserve to crap all over the club then return to a heroes welcone with a fat contract. He has shown his true colours.

Testify brother.

You don't piss all over the club, as a club captain mind, and then get welcomed back with open arms. Sure he didn't chuck a Moses, but he still treated the club and fans with contempt.

I'd rather he not be back at all, but if the club does want to give the bloke a run we'd better not be paying the fare.

Would take him back with open arms. Forwards win you matches and it's been our downfall over the years. Can you imagine a prop rotation of

- woods
- packer
- mautilino
- twal

Would be one of the best in the comp.

I think it would look more like:-

- packer
- matulino
- twal
- woods

Yes our forwards have been poor but one of the big issues has been overpaying our never to play origin again captain top dollar.

The close 10 meters didn't help Woods on Sunday either, Penrith were all over him before he could move.

He hardly had time to turn around and back into them
