Woods may have stayed if Ivan had come earlier

They've won 3 games since Woods signed with them. One of those wins coming against Newcastle that they only won due to the bounce of the ball. Poor guy was lead down the primrose path by his manager and James Hooper. Yep, i'm not forgetting about that chrome dome's role in all this, flipping out at Pascoe on MMM the morning we beat the Cowboys, asking him if he had accepted the fact Woods and Tedesco were leaving, insinuating that they were both going to better run, more competive clubs. Then sits the fake captain down for a tell all interview, grinning when Woods announced he wanted to be at a club who wasn't always in the headlines and was a finals team. Fast forward 3 months, whose looking more likely for finals in 2018 James? You've been very quiet since the Dogs imploded and Des hanging by a thread. Maybe feeling guilty he played a part in influencing a simpleton like the fake captain to leave our basketcase of a club and go to a club who you thought would be in contention next year. I know id feel like an idiot too.

You could have stayed Aaron. You chose to chase the cash.

You made your expensive bed, now lie in it, straight if you can.

On the flip side, I find it utterly pathetic that fans would pick on a player because of their appearance.

If you are so quick to judge a bloke by his hairstyle, then it's only reasonable to think you'd be just as hasty to be critical of someone based on say, their skin colour.

Grow up. Seriously.

I wonder what fluffy comments he could be quoted with in a potential press release announcing he's staying. He can't exactly say he never wanted to leave.

He'll be a laughing stock.

I don't reckon that would happen at all. Both sides are primed with reasonable excuses / spin (whatever you want to call it) if the Bulldogs deal was to fall through. Plenty of Tigers fans would react negatively but the wider NRL community would just shrug and let it move on, and it would reflect worst on the Bulldogs club, part of their wider failings as a club this year.

I agree, J. It would be very easy for Woods to put a spin on it and make it all good again for the majority.

For a laugh, go read the Aaron Woods thread in The Kennel and enjoy the meltdown. Some of the language used is a bit salty.

Quite a good read. Imagine how colourful this forum would be if they opened the door to foul language! :roll

I would of made Kevin bloody Wilson look like mr brady of brady bunch during that semi final against roosters a few years ago….

Id take Woods back obviously im still peeved with the way he went about it the tell all interview ect but im sure he's being ill advised by his so called manager and he doesnt seem overly smart. In saying that his contract would have to be heavily subsidised by the dogs if we were to pick him up for around 600k a season why not.
But i wouldnt have him as captain i think he would need to come and earn that right again, he's abysmal in the media he should concentrate on playing footy, it is what it is :stuck_out_tongue:

i can see the club and woods coming off very positively if he comes back. Dogs would look stupid though.

They're a mess, but they normally bounce back pretty quick. I still reckon they were after Tedesco, were happy to take them as a pair and then Tedesco opted for Roosters.

There could be more to run on this story, rumours have it that Raelene Castle's dispute with Ray Dib and sections of the board was over the Salary Cap.If Des. gets punted in Oct./Nov. anything could happen before the 2018 Season starts.

Woods should be able to get an offer in the 400k to 500k from the Broncos if the doggies don't want him.

They won't be bouncing back anytime soon with a tired, ageing pack, average backs and no recognised 7 or 9\. Plus the coach is more stale than week old bread. Where will the improvement come from? Woodsy was very wise hitching his wagon to their star.

WTs receiving a workover now in the Aaron Woods thread on The Kennel with a list of all the WTs' gains and losses. The accusation being made is we can't possibly afford our buys in terms of our losses/gains and extensions. Well worth reading.

Learnt a long time ago that the chat on fan forums of teams that are struggling almost mirror each other, just that the names are different. The usual targets- coach management and their highest paid players.

They obviously aren't aware of our love of paying players to play elsewhere :crazy

An overweight lock on $750K playing reserve grade next year.
