Woods to Bulldogs for 900k GARBAGE.

Remember when we were trying to sign Klemmer?

Him and Woods are friends.
They were both super keen to play together…

Well now there's another chance to make that happen at the dogs instead of the tigers

If that is what is happening just tell everyone, we can try get Graham subsidised by the dogs.

Woods is first-choice prop for NSW and second-choice for Australia.

All the keyboard warriors can hold their criticism dear, and Woods isn't absolved of criticism, every player can improve, but he clearly is highly regarded in the game by people whose opinions count.

You can not let that get in the way..gheeessh

Yet he probably wouldn't get a run in the starting NZ side or possibly the English side

Woods big advantage is the minutes he can pump out if required

The question I guess if you rate him against other NRL props across the board

James Graham
Jesse Bromwich
Andrew Fifita
Paul Gallen
JWH
Matt Scott
Aidan Tolman
James Tamou
David Klemmer
Junior Paulo
Tim Mannah
Jarrod Wallace
Ryan James
Shannon Boyd
Paul Vaughan
Jake Trjobevich
Jack De Belin
Nate Miles
Martin Taupau
Nathan Brown

They are arguably the best props in the NRL in no particular order

Where does Woods rate ??

Then ask yourself if he is worth 900 K ??

Nate Miles did you bump your head Happy

Yes the first stayed loyal to the club that produced him…..

Come on Harvey loyalty is a two way street. You cant use that as an excuse anymore. Clubs are tapping players on the shoulders everywhere when they out live their usefulness contract or no contract.
No one gives a rats about loyalty when the player is a butt average, it only becomes a factor when other clubs start circling one you want to keep.

Woods is a solid NRL player…..probably worth $500k a year......but I would not be paying him more.....if he thinks he is worth $900k then he better go elsewhere....

I don't believe Des Hasler is that stupid. For the reported 900k per season, what does Woods have to offer to the Dogs that they don't already have ? Just look at their forward pack, maybe a bench position. Besides if Woods is worth that sort of money, what is a player like Josh Jackson worth ?
I've never got out of my head a couple of seasons back at Leichhardt against the Raiders, we're up 20 plus halfway through first half, and of course we gave that up pretty quickly, and right on half-time 5mts out from our line Shannon Boyd just ran right over the top of Woods, knocked him totally to one side.
Maybe Des is thinking of starting Pilates classes for his squad, Woods can run that.
Tigers should offer Woods 550k per season, take it or leave it, we could pick up a real handy forward for that money.

Des will take Woods and Tedesco. Does anyone remember the Dogs offering a 700K to Fifita? That was with Tollman and Graham and many others? So how did they do that 200K cap + 500K business sponsor ships.

It will be the same for Woods and Tedesco. Des knows that players who are friends will play better together. He payed out 600K to sign Brett Morris to go with Josh (Ok he probably paid less, but he definitely paid top dollar for the winger). Would Des pay 1m a season for Tedesco and 900k for a prime forward to boot, 100% yes. In the Bulldogs pack with Graham, Tollman, Eastwood, wow you add Woods to that you have a pack that is ferocious (and a stack of mentors for Woods, suddenly the guy who does not want to be Captain can stand tall behind a big pack. No carrying the team and hard knocks every week).

Yes, the Dogs will work it so that the actual cap value for these players will be low, but they will sign because they will travel together. Des could take Tedesco to another level as he will say he mentored Brett Stewart and a host of Manly backs. But the clincher will be Woods dosen't have to get bruised rotten carrying the team each week, he can be a big man with other big strong men.

Rules were changed last year on this topic, the Bulldogs will have to pay a majority portion on the cap rather than TPA.

Well he won't be staying for 500k that is for sure and I wouldn't blame him.
That is ridickerus.

I'm not interpreting it one way or the other, suffice to say I thought Woods looked very annoyed in the presser. Could have been a natural reaction given the week. For the body language experts, I picked up a tell. When asked whether that sort of performance is something that would make him want to be a part of going forward, he said something to the affect of he it does, but as he answered he started figiting with his hair. A sign that someone isn't really speaking from the heart and being totally truthful.

Speaking of body language I noticed a tell from Cleary when asked about keeping his assistants on in the presser when he was announced. He started scratching his arm. Laugh, but it's human nature to start figiting when asked a question you aren't answering truthfully and are uncomfortable with.

I think GNR4LIFE has hit it on the head.

Woods is not happy. We made him captain to push Robbie out, it was a bad call (captain that is).

It was meant to buy Woods loyalty I guess. Woods on the other hand just wants to play football.

I reckon that if we offered Woods 50K less and no captainship he would take it in a second.

Nothing the club can do. We've offered plenty of money, but if they don't WANT to stay we are better off without

I'm a big body language fan , always looking for stuff

My big boss gulps before he is about to lie ….

Some days I swear he is chugging yard glasses

I'll have to look at the video , just remember that Ross River fever comes from a river less than 1 km from the Stadium , it could of just been a mozzie
