Woods to Bulldogs for 900k GARBAGE.

If it's true and Woods(bulldogs)wants us to match/better it I would say take the money. We can't offer that. As a bonus it would stuff up bulldogs plans for Teddy and free up even more money to go to the market with

Spot on, $900k for a prop, tell him he's dreamin'.

He's going to the Dogs and they will pay it for sure.
We have tabled big offers for these players even Phil Gould said they were irresponsible.

Given they have delayed this long it's pretty obvious they are giving their new clubs time to work things out.
We need to move on. I am disappointed losing Teddy but everyone else is overpriced and easily replaceable.

Think about it folks
These guys are 22-24 , eventually they were gonna leave us for better money
We could never afford to keep them as one club players

Shame is they are real quick to move on instead of being loyal and helping rebuild the club

Get rid of him, he's not showing that be wants to have a future here. So let him go.
We need a leader and he's heart isn't in it in my opinion.

Woods is first-choice prop for NSW and second-choice for Australia.

All the keyboard warriors can hold their criticism dear, and Woods isn't absolved of criticism, every player can improve, but he clearly is highly regarded in the game by people whose opinions count.

Woods isn't the duck's nuts, but he's certainly one of the elite props. He could do better, but most of that is coaching. Big yards, opposing teams never try and belt him, just ease him to a stop over 15 metres. Better timing to allow fast play the balls from other players, and all's good.

Oh, and no turning your back. That's just started to creep into his game in the last 12 months.

I have to agree about Woods as a player. I never understood how he made it in to the origin team. Every hit up, he lumbers into the defensive line, spins around and looks for an offload. I feel like it's not very often that he hits the line running and looks like busting through.

He's making plenty of metres this year bit I think that's mostly due to his workload.

You just answered your own question. He's not there for line breaks, that's the edge forwards' job. Hit ups, metres, tackles, and he makes a lot of all three every week.

Not every player is a highlights reel.

Yet he probably wouldn't get a run in the starting NZ side or possibly the English side

Woods big advantage is the minutes he can pump out if required

The question I guess if you rate him against other NRL props across the board

James Graham
Jesse Bromwich
Andrew Fifita
Paul Gallen
JWH
Matt Scott
Aidan Tolman
James Tamou
David Klemmer
Junior Paulo
Tim Mannah
Jarrod Wallace
Ryan James
Shannon Boyd
Paul Vaughan
Jake Trjobevich
Jack De Belin
Nate Miles
Martin Taupau
Nathan Brown

They are arguably the best props in the NRL in no particular order

Where does Woods rate ??

Then ask yourself if he is worth 900 K ??

None of those props are worth 900K Hap. The only props in recent memory worth that amount were Webcke & Lazarus, imo.

Good post. Behind Paul Vaughn, Shannon Boyd, Ryan James, Klemmer, Scott, Bromwich, Fifita, JWH
8th best prop in the NRL roughly deserves a payday 650k.

I will say one thing now that we are talking NRL and big money…I have spoken to Woods on an occasion at a post game function at Campbo..he is a good bloke and loves a laugh..but back to the topic of paying him 900k...look at what he does and look at say Vaughn at the Saints...I know who I would pay 900k for and it aint Woodsy unfortunately...

Journalists

Bulldogs are linked to Foran, Cronk, Tedesco and Woods.
Latest story is that Des and Cronk have same manager and that the coach new deal was linked to Cronk joining Bulldogs for the same 2 years.

But what the heck even that story came from a journo

Brooks linked with dogs=fail
Moses linked with dogs= fail

the rumour gurus hope they will get one right if they link every player off contract to the dogs.

My gut tells me woods and tedesco will stay. For the club to withdraw moses offer i reckon its just a matter of nutting out the finer details of their contracts.

I couldn't care less as to whether Woods stays or goes, but not worth anywhere near that price.
In fact I'd wait a few games under Clearys coachingto see if he gets some agro into his game. If he hasn't he can go where ever he wants.
Don't believe Hasler would want woods anyway. He's already got plenty of the same sort of player already

Pretty much, he's a rich man's Tolman.

If the money being offered to Woods is true, then he'd be a fool to not accept it. He'll never have an offer like that again
