Woodsy misses out

Fifita, Lewis and Hayne should be there.

Drop Gidley and Hoffman, push Gallen to lock and Woods to prop, Lewis and Mason on the bench and Watmough starting with Bird in the backrow….that would be pretty much our strongest possible side at this point.

Woods can feel hard done by, would have picked him ahead of Merrin and I wouldn't have Gallen playing at prop.

I hope Woods doesn't get discouraged by this and continues to put his head down and work hard. I think he can still be a chance for game 2 or 3 but he has got to keep working hard. Hopefully a few more Tigers wins will help his cause as well.

They took a game off Queensland this year to try and give NSW a greater advantage… I wonder what they will do next???

I hear that Laurie Daley has been announced the referee for Game 1 and 3 also Watto

Probably use that monster Snoz to flatten Qld players with also

Sabre are we still having a bet on SOO again this season ??

I'm up for it.

Think twice Sabre..last bet I had with Happy was the NYC Origin game and he develops amnesia if the result doesn't go Qld way

Mate I sent that bottle via pidgeon mail ,bloody pidgeon must of drunk that bottle 😢

Upside for us, we only have to play one man down during Origin. That being said we have byes on two of the origin weeks… but we do play Warriors on the Friday after Origin III.

I'm reasonably happy with theteam.
I actually reckon we are better with Gallen in the Front row he is a little slow for lock IMO.

I dont like the idea of Bird in the centre, he hasnt played in the middle in years, Id like to see Watmough or Merrin start in that spot, with either Lewis or Hoffman back to the bench.

Watmough and Merrin are both in super form and are both creating a lot of second phase play that troubles any side.

I like Hoffman in the side, his hole running will at least make the QLDers make some defensive decisions.

My main issue is that we are probably a worker prop short. Either woods or Grant would do the job.

The reverse of this I guess, Fifita again will cause some problems.

At least I can see how this side is going to score points, the last few years we have picked a side of defensive drones and bash it up the middle forwards, this side has more balance.

I'd agree with all that… Qld are down 2 Props this year so Myles & Thaiday will need to push up through the middle at some stage.

I feel this is where NSW may gain an advantage?

I have to disagree with 2 points Goose

Hoffmann Unless Daley plans to implement the same attacking options that Melbourne use he is usually ineffective outside of the Melbourne game plans

Gallen at prop , he is not getting any younger and to ask him to play 80 at prop after 4 weeks out is a risk ,especially leaving out blokes like Woods,Grant and Mannah

Ferguson isn't going to be able to handle GI in defence , I can see Ferguson getting dragged in to help Morris and Tate getting some clear runs to the corner

Minichiello should of been fullback , at least they would of had almost an entire spine from one club and put Hayne on Ferguson's wing , he would better cope with GI

Just my opinion ,Qlds 1-13 should pick itself if Boyd is fit , if not Nielson or Graham from the Cowboys Slightly tempted by Maranta but still very inexperienced

HAYNE - yes
FERGUSON - Uate
MORRIS - Idris
JENNINGS - yes
MORRIS - merrit
MALONEY - yes / carney couldnt handle the pressure last year
PEARCE - would've rather seen reynolds, but i hope he is 18th man and been groomed for next year
BIRD - grows 3 extra legs in origin
LEWIS - see bird
HOFFMAN - inform deserves his spot
GALLEN - yes if lock
FARAH - yes
TAMOU - yes need size

GIDLEY - dont agree with lewis, bird can replace most positions. Don't need the so called supersub (woods much better replacement)
WATMOUGH - better be told no offloads and hold the ball but goes well in origin
MERRIN - not bad
FIFITA - think woods has been perfoming more

Woods biggest problem is Gallen & Bird.

They are both proven at Origin level but ruin the backline movement and continuity unless they are forced to play tight. This shift meant Woodsys chances went out the window especially when they are using a true utility in Gidley rather then Lewis or Bird in that slot

I reckon this one for the supporters of the losing state

I really think the Blues are going to do it this year , I would of had Woods in front of Reynolds , Farah is an 80 minute player anyway.
