Worst NRL Fans

Saints - The word 'fairweather' was invented for Saints fans, as were the words 'fickle' and 'soft'. Will crawl out of the woodwork come the semis, but otherwise they're lazy travellers. Will leave early in their 1000's if the Dragons can't win. The BEST at the blame game, love scapegoats

and when they werent making the finals they had one of the lowest average home ground attendance too

I've been to Tigers games in all current NRL venues in NSW and have noticed these about NSW teams:

Bulldogs fans have the worst rep, but it seems it's a minority of fans that have famously been d**kheads at games in the past. Did anyone go to the WT vs Dogs game at Homebush in 2006 (I think) that had massive brawls all over the stadium? I hate Canterbury but I really feel for Dogs fans that have supported their team for a long time before the last decade or so when they had all these young idiots come in and make them look bad. Sad thing is, I reckon if you ask most of the Doggies fans at their games they wouldn't even remember Terry Lamb, Steve Mortimer…Daryl Halligan is probably before their time! When we beat them 54-2 (from memory) in 2005, it was probably the greatest game other than our semis I've ever attended. For once Doggies fans were silent!!!

Eels fans are the biggest whingers in the NRL. I don't think I have ever met an Eels fan that doesn't bag out their team when they're losing, yet act like they're god's when they're winning. Their crowd figures correlate massively with their form too. In 2009 for example early in the year they were getting <10,000 to Parra stadium. We played them towards the end of the year with both teams in good form and the SFS couldn't fit all of them in. I'm proud of our team that even when we're in bad form (like now!) we still get around 20,000 to our games. A good mate of mine has season tickets front and centre on the leagues club sideat Parra stadium and I sat with him in the Tigers game there late last year. as you may remember we were a few tries ahead until they came back. The Eels 'fans' were yelling out to Inu, Hayne etc that they were shit, saying that their club needs a cleanout, their coach is hopeless etc etc etc....they score a couple of tries and all of a sudden they're talking about they're the best team in the NRL....they're the only team in the NRL I've heard has 'booed' their own team at home games.

A lot of Roosters fans are bandwagon fans as well. I'm 'friends' with a few Roosters fans and have tagged along to their games that don't clash with WT games. I've been to a Rooters homegame at the SFS that had <6,000 because they're in bad form. but when they're playing well they'll get the bandwagon fans to put down their lattes and get back to the games. Their loyal supporters however I've never had a problem with. I've sat in the chookpen a few times and I actually like their drums and chants, we need more of that at WT games.

Souths are probably my most hated club in the NRL mainly because of their fans. The whole 'we're the pride of the league' attitude shits me about them. Tigers, Roosters, Dragons, Bulldogs and Eels have been around for longer than most fans have been alive....nobody cares if you won 20 premierships before 1967!

Dragons fans are cocky, but they're the best team in the NRL...I suppose they have a right too. Was always fun to give them the 'choke' remark...it's now just a hate them because they're so good attitude I have now lol

Panthers fans as someone said are a different breed of people with a dress code that includes ugg boots. But like the Roosters their 'Black hole' makes a good atmosphere with the trumpet and chants. I have family in Mt Druitt (no they're not criminals), Rooty Hill and the Blue Mountains so I've been to a lot of Balmain/Wests Tigers games @ Penrith. I have a bit of a soft spot for Penny.

Sharks fans...I feel sorry for them (although they're in better form than us right now). One thing I laugh at is they struggle to get many people to their home games, yet no matter what teams are playing I always see at least one Sharks jersey in the crowd.

Knights fans are okay. I'm from the Centy Coast and have been to Ausgrid/Energy Aus/Marathon a few times....there's not much else to do up there so it's a good community feel at their games lol

Manly. They know everyone hates them but don't care. I respect that, but still hate them. They're pretty cocky at home and Brookvale is also the worst ground to watch footy at in Sydney IMO. Go the Fibros!

Newton Jets supporters who dont realise they dont have a team anymore.

Dogs supporters because to them every win = a premiership.

Dogs without shadow of a doubt. I don't mind the team/club themselves but Canterbury made a very astute choice when they picked a dog for a club mascot as it accurately represents the portion of their supporter base.

I was at the 54-2 drubbing in 2005 and on the train home after the game I copped a tirade of abuse from two upstanding young gentlemen in Canterbury jerseys to which I politely repeated the scoreline. A scuffle ensued and one of them left with one less tooth.

As a result, I don't attend games where the Dogs are playing anymore.

Did they have a fight to determine who would rob you?

They must have had no mobile signal on that train between Homebush & Lidcombe, because I was waiting to be jumped by more of them.

Good on you mate.

I had a tussel with two dogs fans in the dunnies a few years back. They come off the fist well dont they?

Souths. As mentioned above, all that "pride of the league" nonsense yet there's not more than 6,000 of them proud enough to turn up to that dump they play at half the time. Our club has split membership from two centres miles apart yet we can get 18,000 on a Monday night to watch a team going poorly against a poor team. I guess it's harder to make it to games when you're living under a park bench.

Manly. Actually a lot of their fans seem ok but for some reason Manly are the club you can count on to always have That One Guy. You know the sort: loud-mouthed R Sole who seems to want to wind up the oppo more than he does actually enjoy his own team going well. I'm not claiming to be the perfect person when my team wins but when we do I basically forget about the oppo - who are these people who's first response to scoring isn't to celebrate but to rip on the other team's fans? I'll tell you who: Manly fans.

Melbourne fans, no wait they haven't got any!!!

I reckon as a few others have said the worst fans are that small element who claim to follow the Bulldogs.

The biggest bandwagon fans are Roosters fans.

Biggest whingers are Eels fans!

lets not sugarcoat it.Its not a 'small element' of dog fans, its just about the entire supporter base

Evidently you haven't been around these parts over the years.

A scuffle with a few parra fans after the tank broke his ankle has me convinced they are the worst, closely followed by the dogs!

Bulldogs fans are the worst. For 3 years I boycotted all bulldogs games with the sole reason being their fans.

A few years ago, if the bulldogs win, you cop endless taunts and abuse from their fans on the slow journey out of the stadium. If the bulldogs lose, you fear for your safety.

They should have followed through and taken points from them like they threatened a few years ago. The only reason the fans calmed down wad because they started losing and people stopped turning up.

Bulldogs and worst just in front of Souths - the 2 teams who you worry for your safety at and after a game - never had any problems with any other teams

Thats exactly how I felt on Friday night, walking out hoping to not get either verbally or physically assaulted. Bulldogs fans might be nice now, and Greenberg has certainly changed the culture of the club, but I've been to games where we've been beaten by every other club in the comp, only feel this way after a Bulldogs game.

20,000 to a game between 2 teams who, to be honest, are playing crap at the moment, on a freezing night at Campbelltown, and 20,000 against a team who would have provided maybe 500 supporters of its own. You're right, have horrible supporters.
