CEO hires a football manager who sacks the existing coach with no replacement in the line and after a well publicised fruitless search (takes the advice of a journalist who has been bragging on about it) installs himself as head coach with an apprentice. Then coach decides to release two 7’s one of which we had spent the best part of 4 years developing. This has also left us short in the 5/8 role, the only 5/8 was AD, and now the coach has finally caught up, and realises that both LB and AD are not NRL standard we are left searching for a 7 asap (midseason) and a 6.
It’s the same with fullback even last year questions were being asked about Laurie being a FB so he got some cover in Staines, but then when it was obvious Laurie didn’t wanna catch the ball no more he went back to AD which has been another complete failure. Hopefully Staines gets a fair crack at the role.
I would be on the phone to Slater and give him whatever he wants to come and spend the next 2 months with both Stains and Laurie before we decide to let them go.
I’d say the same about getting Cronk here for the halves but I’m not sure it would be be worth it for LB and AD.

Anyway the halves debacle coupled with 0-5, and if we go to 0-6, then for me that is head rolling time. So the CEO either roles someone’s head or his own. But if he sacks the existing coach he’d wanna have someone else lined up.
I would offer Slater and Cronk whatever they wanted, if not Flanagan, at least he comes with a 7.

The best thing is, Benji doing a 2 year apprenticeship then taking over as head coach. Is there any other coaches out there in the nrl that have got a gig as an nrl assistant coach with no experience and leading straight into the top job.
If Pascoe gets the arse, there are still another million things wrong with the joint. Privatisation is the only way forward and Wests Ashfield are not going to sell.
Club is sinking.

Exactly. Why on Earth isn't he coaching one of the lower-grade "pathways" teams to learn his trade?

This club is a disgraceful shambles.

In the professional era of Rugby League, has any coach walked into a head role without spending at least 5-10 years either coaching lower grades or as an assistant? Even Ciraldo coached junior rep teams and was Italy's national coach before moving into assistant coaching at Penrith.

Ricky Stuart and Craig Bellamy.

Lee needs to spend less time worrying about what the media is saying and more time worrying about who our CEO is… He is probably upset NRL360 highlighted that it’s a conflict of interest that he is the chairman… He should follow Justin out the door.
Maybe but lawyers don’t think like that.
Remember they make the law, study the law and administer the law and just love to file their legal muscle.
He’d spend all night discussing a potential case more than he would analysing where the problems lay.
You see, we have two people in key roles( a lawyer/sponsor and a corporate CEO) who don’t really understand the vagaries of footy.
That’s a big part of the problem.
If you slotted a Gus Gould type in there he would isolate the key issues re the football side in about a week.

you just know Lee and Justin spent 12 hours today crafting that response that no-one gives a flying f about.

Can almost guarantee they spend half the week worrying about what the media says and complaining about it.

Improve the onfield performances and it all goes away you numpties

Lee ,Justin your mission in life is to have tigers win games of football . Last few weeks nothing but silence and now you jump up out of your cot with your nose out of joint over jersey issue . Hey we win footy games or just go .forget your irrelevant kpi's

You forgot when the journo asked about Sheens interest they were hooking in to the red, who knows how pissed they all were when they concocted the great 5 year plan.
