Bit worrying McIntyre hasn’t re-signed

With Madge and Pascoe away for the week things may start to move next week who knows they may have been on a road trip for recruiting purposes???????

Fingers definitely crossed one of their priorities is a contract for Sam.

Sam has not spoke to anybody, so those boys were definitely not up here.
If he is a priority the club is not showing it in his contract offer.
So does anybody body here think 100k is a reasonable offer!
The development boys are close to that
He said it's quite insulting really!

100k is an insult not an offer.Very disappointing if that is all we are offering

Its too low and 150-175k would be about right. But at the same time I imagine the club has said something like we can only offer you 100k at the moment but we're working on done deals to free up some space but we value you a lot so hang tight and we'll get back to you.

Players at his end of the cap can always find a club, even late in pre season.

Show me an apprentice that gets paid around that much.
And at this stage of his career that’s all he is.
Second year syndrome will determine his true value.

Isn’t minimum wage 110k ? I seriously don’t believe that poster at all. He’s probably been offered minimum for next year due to our rubbish salary cap and an upgrade for the second and third year. He’s played like 10 nrl games . And started 1 . He could be worth a lot more , but he isn’t right now . We have to stop paying for potential , and in kind reward those who show loyalty , and a desire to develop here .
There needs to be clear pathways for remuneration . Ie. if you sign for your correct value , you will then get the upgrade to your correct value if your price rises.
This time last year most on here were saying who is this useless bludger McIntyre taking up a top 30 position. He had a good year, and if he backs it up next year , we should reward him , once the 3mil of dead weight is off from around our neck.

Depends ...... $750 per week equals $110k per year than I want you in my accounting team.

Where did you get 750 a week From ? I’m almost certain that minimum wage for a top 30 position is 110k. It came in with the last CBA , when everything went to 9mil . From memory it was the sticking point of NRLPAs negotiations. I could be dreaming that though .

Momo, Masterton, Strongee and Westigerman, guess you all won't be disappointed when Sam heads off to another club. You have to look after yourself and taking a pittance, which 100k is for playing NRL is just not on.

Go get a few bucks where you will be appreciated Sam.

For sure , you gott look after yourself , but at the end of the day he’s played 10 nrl games. I’m not saying don’t pay the kid , I’m saying pay him the year after next , and if he wants to win , I’m sure he’ll understand why that coin next year goes to JAC. Like others said paid himinimum this year , and 200k next year . Also benji and lawry thought the minimum was fine last year .

Neither Benji or Chris were on minimum,in fact Benji was reportedly on 300k+

When Sam joined the top 30 last year after his 1 yr development deal finished he was on 80k, so you would assume that is the minimum!

A lot of people get that sitting at a desk on a comfortable chair without any head knocks.

James Tedesco’s deal with the Roosters has been delayed until after the season due to reports of some pretty extreme demands from the superstar fullback.

The Daily Telegraph reported in September that Tedesco had all but locked up a five-year $6 million contract to finish his career at the Tri-colours, but negotiations have stalled.

Brent Read told Triple M that the length of the deal is a point of conjecture, with the Roosters keen for a three-year deal, while Tedesco’s camp wants more.

Well think they will meet half way at 4 years by the sounds of that and be a good deal for both.
He is the best fullback in the Comp.

Let's get him back. 5 years for teddy is doable.

He has won 2 Premierships with the Rorters and embedded within there system, besides who would like to leave a consistent top 4 team.

I like Tedesco but no longer call him a Wests Tiger and when he retires will most likely be going to Rorter reunions.

Well if he won something of importance i would have nil issue, but he is a Rorters player now.
I don't begrudge him wanting to play and win some silverware somewhere else as we have been a basket case of a club these past 10 years. On the way up i hope maybe 1 more year of pain.

They’re also usually educated , and went to uni , or an apprenticeship/ traineeship . Not being paid to play a kids game.
Let’s keep it real mate. Whilst there are negatives ie. head knocks , long lasting injuries , the amount of leg ups footy players can get just by being bog average , in regards to education , connections etc. are endless if they are smart enough to take advantage .

If you’re 22 and earning 110k a year than I’d say that’s pretty well killing it . When you consider many other 22 year olds earn 65k a year , to be shot at , and yelled at on a regular basis , whilst in some cases leaving said occupation with As much if not more injuries , And a job in security.

Teddy may be looking to move on now the 3 peat is GONE and Rorters have looked pretty ordinary this year especially since SBW arrived I think they will be going through a rebuilding faze Cordner looks like he’s one hit away from retirement JWH is getting older they have a problem around the halves whilst they made the 8 they didn't look like a cohesive team this year.

Well all i can say you can't keep continually signing talent from other clubs (Morris twins and example) at some point you have to develop your own.

They made the finals although bundled out in straight sets.
Still did better than us despite the injuries.

wouldn't say that mate. Radley is so crucial to both their attacking and defensive structures that when he was ruled out for the season it was going to be a monumental task to produce a three peat. throw in a rookie halfback trying to follow in the footsteps of one of the most decorated players of the last 15 years and it was never going to be easy. they get Radley back and if Sam Walker takes off in his rookie year they'll win another within 2 years, as much as I hate to say it.

Lol minimum wage for a top 30 player . Not the actual minimum wage . The EBA dictates how much a minimum nrl contract is worth . And I’m almost certain it’s 100k .

Lol minimum wage for a top 30 player . Not the actual minimum wage . The EBA dictates how much a minimum nrl contract is worth . And I’m almost certain it’s 100k .

If you reread the thread I mentioned that lots of apprentices would be happy to get $100k .... and I consider (after only limited time in first grade) Sam’s in that category and nowhere near what apparently his agent is currently asking.

With the cut to the salary cap and WTs carrying a number of poor contracts, this is an unfortunate impact. I hope WTs can come to an agreement with him but he has to do what is best for him.
