Garbo
Dont sneer….someone has to take away your crap.

I'm a Garbo too. Best job in the world

Couldn't survive without our garbo. Recently missed our bin by mistake - panic stations throughout the household!

 I know the feeling Telltails. The kids forgot to put our bin out last week. It was chock a block. Panic… Had to chase the truck and explain what happened. Nice man drove back to empty it for us

Never trust the kids with the garbage bins, TM

Retired: I now teach remedial reading to 4 and 5 year olds at the local school on a volunteer basis, raise my own kids and make bread. Prior to retirement I was a Ranger (jack of all trades). Favourite duties were prescribed fire management and crocodile management. I still do occasional volunteer croc work.

Sorry about that Down Syn edit… That's a hangover from the MOTHs and the douchebag friends of Mulvihill, who would often berate fellow fans with insults.

[side note - does anyone know how his court appearance ended up?]

I'm genuinely surprised to see so many people in the health and care sectors, it's great! Well done

I'm in Finance Systems. Studying too, half way through the CA.

Tax consultant.

Been doing it for about 15 years.

Not the most exiting profession, but pays the bills.

Incidentally I was a Garbo back in my uni days, very well paying job and kept me extremely fit (back in the days when garbos used to run behind the trucks and empty the bins by hand). Was earning more money as a Garbo than all of my mates who were doing trades at the time.

Nothing personal, but it is an industry which I would prefer did not exist. Jones too.

Care to share your reasons why?

Risk and return. I already had concerns about the practice, but after switching channels on foxtel last year I came across a program on the subject that showed many contamination problems.

If it was done out around Roxby Downs etc as an extreme example, then I am partly okay with it, but pocking the landscape around the eastern seaboard and anywhere near aquifers is a big no from me, especially if it is for export and not local consumption.

I am an accountant/tax agent working in self managed Superannuation funds. I have been running my own business for the last 5 years. The work itself is boring, but i mainly work from home and dictate when i work, which makes it great.

I have always worked in Superannuation aftering falling into it after university, having completed a Science/Maths degree.

Have also did some on the side jobs too, working for NRL stats in 2003 and a couple of years doing junior refereeing in Parra district.

Senior Claims Consultant for BT and Property Investor in the Sydney Market.
Enjoy my job especially working with both males and females or all different ages and cultures. Also insurance is the second oldest profession so job security will always be there as computers can not replace all aspects of our job.

It's been happening in South west Sydney for 14 years with no problems.
Independent studies into the industry have concluded it can be done safely and without contamination to the environment if regulated properly. The negative things you hear in the news are blown way out of proportion. Believe me, I live in the local area and if there was any truth to the whole "kids nose bleed" story I wouldn't be involved in it at all.
I could bore you to death with how tightly regulated we are, but I'm sure you don't want to hear it.
I could bore you to death and shoot down every complaint that Alan jones and the greenies (especially that dimwit Jeremy Buckingham) have but again, seems like you've watched a few documentaries and have made up your mind.

I work in marketing. Google adwords, search engine optimisation, social media marketing are my core skillset. I've sort of become the de facto marketing director tbh. I work for a pretty big real estate agency and they haven't really had a marketing team before. Pretty close to taking over as marketing director officially I think. Finally got off the bludge 2 years ago started in search engine optimisation at 35k in Jan 2013 and currently am on 85k and counting. Bit good. Love my job, love the business, love the role, love my boss.

I'm a Project Manager. Mostly good: the coin is good and I have very flexible hours, a bit of international travel, oversight of the Asia Pac region.

Downside is you never truly escape: there's always project work waiting for you and it builds up in your downtime. I spend a lot of my time chasing down people who appear to be trying to avoid me, whilst I try to avoid people who are intent on giving me more work.
