YOUR JOB?

I write for film and TV. Industry has changed a lot in past 10 years, there's no 'full time' jobs on Tv shows anymore - we are all freelance. But I can manage my own time, (can work at night) and so look after the kids etc. Best job in the world if a bit insecure financially sometimes.

PS - Found all this really interesting. Good idea Demps

I work in a golf pro shop and find it very interesting, especially regripping and repairing golf clubs, also set up comps and Iam now learning how to fit players to clubs..all very interesting and we have to do something with our time to feed the family…..full time supporter of the great WESTS TIGERS....

Fridgie by trade, went on to get my engineering diploma.

Work behind a desk now doing engineering, quoting projects and managing a few projects as well.

What's wrong with being a garbo? Probably pays better than most jobs.

Nothing CB….though some people seem to think we are less than them ...I work in an area where what you do, where you live and how much you have is priority to many

It doesnt matter how we earn our living as long as we are happy doing it and feeding the family…..

in the end we are all Gods creatures and he doesnt judge us...

Don't worry ink , I think its the same everywhere

My son when he was young was fascinated with the rubbish collection and we used get the same guy every week

He would always give him a wave and a massive smile

One particular year ( we are on the Friday delivery day ) , he hoped out of his truck and gave my young fella an Easter Egg

Our bin is in a enclosed area at work and we have to unlock it for the garbos , so we usually have some small banter and they are always happy ,smiling and wish you a good day

Your job is what you make of it , make it work for you and others around you

Final bit of advice , leave your work problems as you walk out the door

I am a Senior Travel Consultant specialising in Christian pilgrimages.

We design, put together and market our own tours.

Also do private groups after consulting them and putting together their wishes.

It's ok - enjoy it most of the time.

I am currently reading a great book 'A Food Lovers Pilgrimage To France'. Its based on a pilgrimage from Burgundy to Santiago by Dee Nolan.

Its a great story!

I'm self employed in hospitality, owner, operator, & consultant. I'm a Chef by trade but dont wear the jacket anymore.

I sort of work fulltime, but I decide what hours I choose to work.

I love working (and taking peoples money), but I'm thinking about retiring in a few years!

Why would there be people who think less of people who do this job?

Nothing personal, but it is an industry which I would prefer did not exist. Jones too.

Couldn't survive without our garbo. Recently missed our bin by mistake - panic stations throughout the household!

Ink mate, your job pays just as much as many tradie jobs do and I tell you what I would prefer to be a garbo than a tiler, painter or plumber. The pay is just about equal, plumbers maybe a bit more but as "dirty" as garbo sounds, isn't it a clean job? Sitting in your truck.

Mate nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm a team leader at a call centre for a bank. Mostly complaints management staff, gladly
I don't have to answer many phones these days. The job isn't that hard and I work with good people, but the upper management are pretty ordinary..

Also work casually in hospitality (food vans at events) for the missus' family. Again good people, easy work and decent pay. It makes working weekends easier if it's something different to what you do all week, keeps me busy.
