I like Walters, particularly if Alf joins him, for a few reasons.
1) we have some talented young halves at the club. Who better to learn about the game at the top level from than these two?
2) Walters has extended his apprenticeship under Bellamy. There's a bloke who knows how to get a forward playing in a role that suits. Most agree Blair was all at see this season gone, I am sure Walters would know how to use him much better. This would also be an advantage for the younger guys on our roster
3) It would assist us in extending our scouting/recruitment deep into Queensland. These guys have more connections up there than WT does at the moment. It never hurts to cast the net wider for talent. Especially when your current recruitment philosophy is to throw cash at 30+ year olds on the downward slope.
4) Walters and Langer are winners by nature. Multiple premierships and SOO victories between them. They know what is required when the chips are down and also instill that desire to close out a game with intelligent football.
5) You get the above at a cheaper rate as Walters is yet to be a head coach at NRL level.
