This screen shot does my head in . Where is Laurie ? And why isn’t he in the defensive line off the kickoff , if AD is kicking off . No wonder we get punished . This is either Laurie not paying attention or bad coaching .
There is no need for a fullback off a kickoff , and if there is , that’s what the kicker does .

Mbye last night.

16 tackles

8 missed or innefective tackles.

Not to mention the the number of times that he was just plain out of position.

Yet he STILL HAS NEVER BEEN DROPPED.

Release the photos now Madge and stop the pain.

I have been Mbye's most vocal supporters here but yesterday was one of the most shocking performances I've seen from anyone in this jersey. Lack of skill and intent is another, laziness for an 80 minute game is another level of incompetence.

I understand he's been training at lock/hooker so fitness can be an issue.. but nothing explains yesteryday.

What are everyone's thoughts on Simpkin? He's looked good at some things, and struggled in some areas. Does he need a spell in NSW cup to work on his game or is a tough time in first grade a better option for his development? Maybe swap him with Liddle?

Talau should come back into the side at right centre.

Liddle looked decent and should hold his spot.

Cini and Simpkin need to be given some slack. They are just starting their careers in a very ordinary team. I am happy for the coach to show faith in the younger guys to give them belief but the experienced guys that don't pull their weight need to be shown that you don't have a spot in the team waiting for you because of how much money you earn.

Cini should be dropped you have a shocker that is what usually happens in most teams. That's our problem with our culture nil accountability based upon performance.

Nofo not much better and we preserve with Mybe at centre when is really is a bench utility.

One a positive note BJ had a good game and went looking for runs with the ball.

I don't think dropping sends the message. I would give some sort of punishment at training to both Mbye and Cini. Cini was crap due to lack of skill and experience. Mbye was lazy. It sends the message that no matter who you are- young or experienced, you have to be accountable for your performances.

Too good for NSW Cup not ready to dominate first grade. Liddle can’t hit the side of a barn with a pass and can’t tackle so I’m assuming he will stay as he has more upside and under contract Liddle will struggle to get a contractZ

I’ve seen enough of liddle he’s had his crack not up to it.

For mine Garner, Brooks, Mbye, Tamou get dropped. Blore, Amone, Simpkins, Madden come into the side.

Cini deserves to be dropped but the kid needs another chance for confidence and the future.
After round 10 the whole Magpies roster should be considered.

I honestly wouldn't be all that interested in bringing anyone up from the lower grades. Let them keep winning and get used to that feeling and not get infected with firstgradeitis.

Happy to swap Liddle and Simpkin around, doesn't really bother me which way they play. Bye bye Brooks and Mbye, Mikaele to start so we can have more impact up the middle along with Blore, Garner to come off the bench late into the game. All props to play decent minutes.

This is a team issue, all compressed on one side. The dragons did the exact same thing just wider and we didnt learn.
You can see Mbye and Nofo have to spread out wide to mark everyone. You can see Brimson and Tanah Boyd, must be at least 2 more to the right of Boyd

Guess you could argue mbye should take Brimson which is fair enough, it still would result in a try.

I don’t know about next week but my guess would be when we play Storm or Penrith that we look at a forfeit.

In WA at the moment and yesterday looking at booking to catch the storm game down there in a month, but might have to reconsider seeing that last week seemingly a false dawn.

You do realise he ran for 90 metres more than any other player in the team right?

His last 30 minutes are what sparked the comeback.

He was one of our best but his defensive misses kill you watching it because he has been doing it his whole career.

He definitely can't be dropped though. He is our best outside back.

I agree, his defence is frustrating, but we have problems elsewhere and a distinct lack of winger depth.

How can we have a lack of winger depth when we have Fitzgibbon and Gebbe - 2 of the fastest men in league waiting in the wings ... not sure when they are eligible but make it happen Madge!

Speed isn’t everything. They’re not ready, Fitzgibbon in particular has many more defensive deficiencies than Nofa at the moment.

It’s not just speed, I was being kind to Mbye by only suggesting one deficiency, I could have gone on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.
Don’t you have any passion? I don’t get the constant support for this guy, who offers a CheeKam style bog average appearance, KPI’s - what are they?

There’s a difference between passion and just whining. You’re doing the latter.

I want the team to get better, replacing Nofa with Fitzgibbon or Gebbie right now makes the team worse.

I believe we are missing Eisenhuth and Momirovski. Many liked to bemoan these. two but they were effective for the team. Eisenhuth cleaned up in the middle of the field with his high workrate. His work ethic perhaps masked some of the defensive deficiencies exposed this year. Momirovski is a smart footballer and I don't doubt he would have performed to a far higher standard than Mbye. Tradesman like footballers are sometimes highly undervalued in comparison to players with more flair.

I don't think this is fair in the context of the game. Mbye was getting brushed off by Fafita but he also slowed him down and Fafita didn't kill us.

The try from the kick off was entirely on M'Byes laziness in defence
