Your Team V Sharkies

Tiger Zoe you said Reddy was one of the best defensive backs in the comp. Maybe when he gets a hand on them coz Aidan Guerra brushed past him and he made Mitch Aubusson look like Steve Renouf when he showed him the sideline and came up empty. I thought he was really disappointing.

Well I didnt get to see the trial against the Roosters so I cant comment on that, perhaps he was bad, but generally he is very sound defensively.

I remember him being superb defensively for the Eels (when he played at fullback), although he's only average in attack.

One of my friends is an Eels supporter and when I heard we had signed him last year I asked what he thought about losing Reddy and he said he didnt really care but Parra would miss his defensive work.

Time will tell I guess, and chances are he won't get a shot at fullback anyway because Sheens will probably go with Tedesco or Ryan if he is injured.

Hope so CB I was rapt when we announced Reddys signing. Hopefully his form returns otherwise I'd give Humble the 14.

The side generally picks itself, however, we should take advantage of having three of the best attacking backs in the competition. We should have big, speedy wingers to run off the openings which wll be created by Benji, Lawrence and Ayshford.

I know they are inexperienced and would make some errors, but they would also score a lot of tries if given a go. I speak of Grant and the young Fijian, Korobitee (spelling???)

Whoever is outside Lawrence and Ashyford will score a lot of tries. I would prefer experience there at this stage to help with the defensive side of things. I would prefer Reddy there but I think Sheens will put Utai there and Reddy on the bench.

So you think that Ryan, Reddy, Utai, Brown et al, can run the length of the field for a try? I don't think so. On the other hand.

What's the go with BMM?
Can't say he's ever done much but a lot on here are picking him.
What's the attraction ( apart from the fact he's a big unit)?

he played some good games in nyc.
= gun first grader.
you should know that by now.

Sheens was never going to play Grant (who you are clearly alluding to) at the start of the year. So what if he can run the length of the field, it doesn't change the fact he may have other deficiencies in his game that are more important then running the length of the field. And from what i've read, he does have defensive issues. An area that Joel Reddy has him well covered in

mitch brown is actually quite quick. i think it was back in 2010 against the titans where he ran down kevin gordon who is noted as a speedstar from behind. but either way reddy and ryan should be the wingers IMO with utai on the bench allowing brownie to get some time under his belt in BRET

1 James Tedesco
2 Beau Ryan
3 Blake Ayshford
4 Chris Lawrence
5 Joel Reddy
6 Benji Marshall
7 Tim Moltzen
8 Aaron Woods
9 Robbie Farah ©
10 Keith Galloway
11 Adam Blair
12 Gareth Ellis
13 Chris Heighington

14 Liam Fulton
15 Matt Groat
16 Matt Bell
17 Matt Utai

If there must be an outside back on the bench I think Utai is the best option. His runs out of dummy half are as strong as anyone's in the comp.

This is my team for the Tigers v Sharks, although I think Sheens will put Utai ahead of Brown. I will be annoyed if this is the case, being the Mitch Brown supporter I am

Brown is very quick, although seems to take a while to get going - and yeah he was the one who chased down Kevin Gordon and saved a certain try that day.

Watching Koro for under 20's…. Jesus Christ that guy is FAST, and very quick to top speed. He's faster to top speed that Uate, however not as big a unit.

Koro would be an interesting choice on the wing, but would need extra cuddles from a good defender such as Lawrence or Ayshford to help him with the Defensive side of his game.

Underdog I rate Koribete but I doubt Sheens will debut Tedesco and Koribete in the same game, but I'd love to see him get a run at some stage.

No…I change my mind. This game will have a fair bit of push/shove and a bit of niggle. Mitch Brown in the fullback for me. I feel he would have been selected in trials had he not been injured. James I think will start the year in NYC, then graduate to first grade later on in the season. So then place Utai on the wing in lieu of Brown, and thats my team for round one versus the Sharks

For mine Brown at fullback and no Ben Murdock the guy is as big as a mack truck and runs like a push bike he should be ripping in but goes missing in action , i don't know if it his fitness ,lack of mongrel or is along for the ride. The other forwards seem to do twice as much work he needs to put in this year or go play park footy because what i see last season and so far this year he is the same no improvement he needs a rocket cause he could be the best
