Yeah I feel with the 6-day turnaround & travel, we may err on the side of caution with both Bula & Bird (with no intel on what their issues are except an ankle for Bula & Bird had ice on his quad above the knee). Hopefully they do get up.

But I agree, Staines for Bula.

A replacement for Bird is not a like-for-like.

Possibly, Sione Fainu moves up in pecking order to replace Pole as 1st interchange (moves into #13 role at this point). But who comes in on the bench.

Option A - Kit Laulilii as the 15-20 minute impact middle.
Option B - Latu Fainu for his versatility to play lock (impact lock late in game) or halves for a backline injury (if halves, Galvin can shift out to centre).

Agree it should be Staines. The fact they arent giving Mason the opportunity in reserve grade might show they have gone cold on him at the back, otherwise he should be there ironing out his game.

Yeah Staines at 1. I think they'll probably put Porter on the end of the bench bc he's a bit older and experienced. He's been average in 2 KOE games so far though.

Definitely keep it the same, play Staines at fullback if Bula is out. Staines was fullback in reserve grade and was solid enough.
