Your team vs Eels

No, because Lawrence has the greater potential to suffer from niggling injuries. He is a great clubman and player. Similarly Rochow too will be under pressure if we have a good player (McQueen) match fit and waiting in the wings.

Nofo should not be in anyone's side. Nor should Josh A, or the Huth. We need someone who is quick between the ears and knows how to close out a game. Sadly we don't seem have anybody.

OK I see where you are coming from…

… Right. Have you checked the NRL ladder? Josh A and Huth need improvement but we loose one game and realise our defense still needs more work. ..... We don't go firing all our forwards at once!

Sure, sometimes you need a cleanout. ... NOT NOW.

To be fair I put coverage for Lawrence, not on his form, but on the injury prospects - IMHO on form he should be one of the first in the side.

I'd love to put Lolohea back into the team, possibly in lieu of Gamble, but he needs to show some match fitness and spark.

Get serious - Lawrence has been up there as one of our best players this season.

Put pressure on him - that is a laugh  Put some pressure on a few that are not performing.

Honestly not sure who you pick this week. People are picking Fonua to replace Nofo despite the fact that he doesn't play on the right. Tui isn't banging the door down in reggies and is a shadow of the player he was last season. Gamble won't be the utility, and while McIlwrick should be there over Godinet, it's obvious IC sees something in him.

Sue needs to go. The effort showed when Pearce cut us up was pathetic. Watch him slide in an attempt to show he had a crack.

Im still enjoying listening to my team play, whoever is in/out. I just want them to be able to compete and put in an honest effort. This year has been great for that- other years not so much. We dont get the NRL games up here in Indonesia on sports cable channels and video feeds with highlights are often blocked for some reason, so I rely and enjoy things like the live match updates here. Im just offering my 2 cents worth.

Whatever Cleary does I'll go with. He seems to have a good handle on the squad and knows what he is doing with the players.

Tigers mail: Elijah Taylor copped a head knock on the weekend but is expected to be right to play on Sunday. Jacob Liddle is in doubt with a sternum issue, while Chris Lawrence is poised to return after missing last week with a hamstring issue.

Just my opinion but… All those calling for Tui and stating his "X Factor" as the reason, have not been watching the same games as me. Similarly those wanting to put Noffa or Gamble to fullback. I am not saying Noffa has been faultless but him on the wing and Thomson at fullback is the best option until Fonua shows that he can step up in certain areas of his game.
Looking to make changes to the back 3 after that game against the Knights is premature. My view was that game was lost for a whole host of other reasons.
What needs to be addressed for the Eels game is what do we do without Liddle as it looks to me like he won't play. My view is MM is a better choice than Godinet in the starting lineup. I'd rest him with Taylor coming into D/H for a short spell so that we can have 4 forwards on the bench.
I was disappointed in Sue's effort in the Knights game - he took a step back in form in my view and I wonder if McQueen would step up if he got a run.

Yeah regarding Sue, lazy defence. He had periods like that over the last couple of years too.. Not good enough. I was a fan of him but it seems he isn't improving in that area.

If that's the case:

1\. Thompson
2\. Kev
3\. Marsters
4\. Tui
5\. Fonua
6\. Benji
7\. Brooks
8\. Twal
9\. Godinet
10\. Matulino
11\. Lawrence
12\. Rochow
13\. ET

14\. Gamble
15\. Aloiai
16\. MCK
17\. Eisenhuth

As long as Godinet isnt there I will be happy.

Yeah I know. If Liddle misses out I'd rather play Taylor at 9\. Godinet is nothing more than a speed bump.

McIllwrick offers much more imo, not sure why Cleary keeps going to Godinet. I'm sure there's a reason but it's hard to see.

17\. MCK

18\. Mckillrick cover for Liddle
19\. McQueen Cover for Lawrence

Heavy machinery outside - two potential weapons in fonua and masters on the same side - or swap MWZ and Fonua for more balance.

Gamble to get blooded.

Looks a pretty good side to me. I think Fonua deserves his chance and Gamble too onto the interchange bench. McQueen should be getting match fit now and start to press the existing 2nd rowers for a shot- mainly Lawrence.

Yeah cause Lawrence has done nothing this year has he :bash

I agree Steve, Rowdy has been our most consistent forward so far this year.

I think we give Fonua a shot as i think the Eels will punish Nofo all day after his terrible effect on the weekend.

I would suggest it's because he offers more in attack. Between Godinet and McIlwrick its is Godinet that is closer to the Liddle style of play. Yes McIlwrick is a better defender but he jars the halves with his service and is slow at the PTB.

Cleary could be thinking something totally different.

Let's hope Liddle will get over his injury for this game.

Did you watch the trials? The difference was night and day.

I would be dropping the whole right edge defence until they can learn how to defend as a unit..looks like some get a free pass though..
