James Roberts

Call me a good judge on what makes a good footballer I guess. Hardly wrong in my perception, I'll gladly admit it if I'm wrong but i doubt it.
We’ll I hope your track record proves you right for all of our sakes. That’s one thing we all have in common, we want every player to excel whilst playing for our club

Centre is probably the toughest position to play. You're expected to be a gun in attack and defence.

It's even tougher in a team that's struggling. You get no space in attack and look like a goose with every overlap.

For mine, Roberts is our best centre and was a really smart, value for money signing.

If the team does better and gives him some room, many opinions in this thread will change.

Can't believe so many are hammering Roberts. I thought his defence was the best I've seen. He shut down the right side really well. If he defends like that every week I'm happy to pick him.

Welcome back

Welcome back
Look guys and girls, if any player can play better than the level at what they are at the moment and help gel the team as a unit I'm all for it.
I'm not a Roberts hater, for Petes sake he's been there done that, all I'm saying is, and have been saying since the start of preseason, when the Sheen effect came into play with some quality signings we are building for a 2023 onslaught.
You sit any player who will be part of that team in reges or on the bench for most of the year then your kidding yourself.
To'a will be in the side next year you can bet on it.
Unless Roberts can wind back the clock and play rep type football, no shirt grabbing and play solid for 80 min week in week out, I can't see him having an extended stay, sorry if that ruffles feathers but thats how I see it and I hope he succeeds, w6r need the old Toberts!
The same goes fir our forwards.
Decide who will be playing next year and make them play big minutes all year, every game. Problem is Madge, he get sacked with that approach if we are losing.

I think this year will be his last in nrl , I would be using him as back up and playing Starford from this week , Roberts was a good player but it’s passed him now

I’ve had a life every bit as tough as that and I know plenty who’ve done it harder.
Some take the easy path and some don’t.

Well he hasnt shirked it IMO. Put his hand up for a train and trial contract, put the hard work in and was rewarded with a contract around $150K. Looks in good shape physically and I thought Saturday is the best he has played in our colours.

I give Roberts a lot of credit for what he is doing in his own life.

Joey Lielua was also offered a T&T and HE took the easy path.

No he wasn't - He wasn't offered any contract...
He said it publicly - So did Lee H

Joey wasn't offered anything by us.
