Not that I believe it, though either way, Brooks' contract for next year lays squarely at McGuire's feet, as he pushed for the additional year.

They swapped sides for the majority of last week's game, reported because of injury to Hastings, so might as well change numbers too.

His biggest fault is the belief in Brooks.

I find it hard to believe that Maguire, a known cap merchant who pays at or under the cap for players would of inflated Brooks salary by signing him for an additional year.
The truth is out there but I’d say on average his is paid 800k a season since his last extension. A lot of money for a half but even still he and Hastings combined are still paid less than DCE at Manly or Hunt at the Dragons. So the key is to spread that money around and sign some strike players like what the Gold Coast have done. Good start with Papali. He is like an inverse David Fifita. Powerful and athletic but loves the dirty stuff more than the fancy stuff. Probably what we need at this stage.

Both Andrew Johns and Michael Maguire believe Brooks should be playing for the Blues. The question is , why hasn’t he? Benny Elias reckons Brooks is Tigers best leader and should be captain.

I think I will keep out of this Brooks thread for awhile...I have been giving him a big chance to improve this year with Jacko next to him...Jacko having a seat in the stand for 3 weeks has put a spanner in the works for now....
I can only hope he and Madden do a good job for the next 3 weeks...Brooks and Hastings will be good,albeit now I have to waste 3 weeks stewing on it...

Who hasn't believed in Brooks? Potter Taylor Cleary Maguire- now you got Joey bangin on feeling sorry for him. He hasn't had it easy at this club, but he has been rewarded financially and backed to the hilt by all his coaches. When I hear is unhappy - not the first time I might add - becoming just a little numb.
