But we need the spoon. This year and maybe next year as well. Maybe it’s to our detriment that we have never gotten it, cos it has just meant we keep plodding along, deluding ourselves that we aren‘t far off, but we never get there. So maybe a couple of wooden spoons will finally pull the clubs arse into gear. Parra have gotten a couple over the last few years and if hasn’t hurt them. Maybe it steeled them. I won’t see it as a bad thing if we get it. I think it might be the best thing for us.

The thing that changed parra was most of the board and the CEO got the arse after cheating the cap. Forced change.
We sacked no one and the board can't be voted out so more plodding on for us I'm afraid. I've already lived through multiple wooden spoons with Wests. It changed nothing

If you think finishing dead last will bring about positive change, I don't know how to respond.
It’s the only realistic way of bringing change. It won’t come through a change in board or a millionaire backer getting behind us.

How? Exactly how does finishing 16th produce something positive over finishing, say, 15th?

I get it, it's an arms up 'blow the place up' kinda thing. But it's an emotional response and does nothing to improve things practically or strategically.

In my opinion.

I don’t know mate. It was just was a suggestion that might make the club wake up. Nothing else has worked, so we might as well try this.

The team is coming last , but the board is happy we hit 20k memberships.. Pats on the back all round their job is done.

I saw my original club Balmain "win" 3 wooden spoons and believe me you do not want them.Old time Magpies supporters would have saw even more of them and i am sure would agree with me.
It is very tough for us all at the moment but expecting a wooden spoon to bring positive change is a fallacy, application and hard work will bring success and it is a hard slog. There is no quick fix no matter how much we want it.

Probably works for other clubs

We'd only stuff it up
