For the sake of the club, it has to end...

I have not posted in more than six months as I did not want to sound negative. Absolutely everything I, and many others, said back then has been proven to be correct.

It is not five straight losses...it is eight if you count last year. Eight straight losses. Many of them by big margins.

It is not "close battles", it is horrendously poor performances. That Dogs belting last year showed us how bad we are, yet nothing was done.

Worse...no one has developed. No one. Name a player any of us can say "geez, he has improved out of sight the last three years!"

Yet tons of players have regressed.

The coach has a shockingly low win rate since 2014. There is no game plan or style of note. It has been four years and we do not even have an identity.

His press conference today was insulting. We have not gone backwards...we just need to keep turning up...it is a matter of inches...we need to keep doing what we are doing. We are developing our standards.

Honestly? Our standards? Wow. Just, wow.

Parra and Souths will be slaughters. That will make it 10 in a row, most of them Z grade performances. Our attack is literally non existent. Our opponents have been half asleep most weeks, made record numbers of unforced errors, and still beaten us...and had us throw absolutely nothing at their goal line.

Today alone we had players pass along the ground, players fail to get into dummy half, players fail to chase a grubber into the in goal, players watch balls go past them without chasing...and on and on...yet he sits there and applauds our "effort plays".

Dolphins coming in has meant that recruitment is extremely hard. Seasoned vets like Bromwich bros, Kafusi and co. have gone already, and they still have 20 spots to fill.

We need a coach who can develop young players and clearly establish a style that we represent.

We need to do it before we are completely irrelevant. People are already walking away in their droves. We have become a laughing stock for younger fans and internet memes. You know you have hit rock bottom when people start their punch lines with "I actually feel sorry for the Tigers..."

The club has to act.

3 grades against Cronulla...For 18 Against 108.
Couldn't agree more.Big changes need to happen..but I bet they don't
I hate to be negative, but it has to happen mate.

I have followed the Tigers for over 40 years and this is the worst time I can recall in terms of identity. We stand for absolutely nothing. Even at rock bottom, Balmain and Wests both stood for something.

At the end of the day there are people who work for the club and actually have to tell people who they work for (players, administrator etc). Now that would be pretty embarrassing.

100% right Ellery. Madge and Tamou bang on about effort and training as if they hadn’t watched the game. We are an embarrassment at the moment. If they are training so well and it’s not translating to game time I’d say it’s time to try something different. Having so many unavailable is being used as an excuse but most of those guys are not going to change this team. We have no depth. The club has said they want to play the same style throughout the club and they are - absolute trash

Mate, just walk away. There’s no shame in that. You can’t help how you feel. But there are still thousands of people that don’t want to, so to think they should fold because you are over it is selfish. Don’t be selfish, just walk away.

Tough times.

Unfortunately being Cleary and Maguire, and a bunch of rebellious players, the club has been dragged into the mud so much I feel it is a point we can't get out.

The only way out (EG - 2002/2003 dark days) is to come through with an exciting bunch of juniors. But they have to be good, and despite the hype, I don't believe our group of Jnrs are any good (at that level). It is great we are throwing games to guys like Toa, Simpkin, Simpkin, Kepoa, seyfarth, madden etc, but very few of them will be more than average first graders at best (If that).

I agree with the sentiments here but am loathe to give a solution as I have no idea what it is . I do though want the club to stop sugar coating our problems and come out and say what most supporters are saying at the moment . For many of us here the footy season has been a non event and seriously pushing me to look at a second team to follow until we get our house in order. Not because I want to but purely to give me some interest in what had been a bludger of a season for us so far. Whilst I say this tongue in cheek I find it incredulous that the club can exalt its membership numbers and yet oversee the lack of performance on the field .

Need some honesty like that in the boardroom mate. Nothing you said is incorrect. What a sad state.

The club doesn’t have a clue. Feels like nobody in there cares 5% as much as fans do. Get some pride/passion back in the jersey.

Unfortunately I agree 100%.
Needs to start at the top... ask Ben Elias and his team back to buy out the club... allow him to bring some passion back to the joint.
Club needs a clean from top down... CEO/Board, Coach, Players...

This is really the first time in my many years of following the Tigers that it actually hurts to watch this team...
Need to show heart and pride in club and themselves...

The club is obliged to discuss with its loyal supporters the serious matter of its intentions as to how it plans to deal with the farcical situation concerning the first grade side. Why have Pascoe and Sheens kept quiet so long on the matter.

I leave out Madge because he is only protecting his lucrative training contract with inane comments about his first grade side, i.e. how well they are training and other lies.

Come on Mr. Pascoe and Mr. Sheens - you each owe the fans the decency of telling the fans the TRUTH.

You won’t hear boo from Pascoe. He hides in his big office collecting his big salary for nothing.

Maybe they're tired by game day and should stop training altogether?

Reactions: BZN
Maguire got dragged over the coals for saying he was looking for "men" after a poor performance. If he shows any level of anger it's blown out of all proportion but laughed off when other coaches lose it. If any coach deserves the right to display a level of anger it's him - but he has to remain positive for fear of upsetting the squad and it being leaked by serial underachievers. And you wonder why we don't compete when it gets tough on the field.
