Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Absolutely zero change we get May.

He is very close to the Clearys and best mates with half of that team.

Penrith will move Staines on, clear his contract, and give that money to May.

Chricton would be absolutely immense. He would change our whole image.
I recall reading our recruitment manager had been trying to get Staines since his junior days at Forbes.

I hope we don't go for Staines. Yes he has speed but by gee he has some errors in his game & just has that goofy look about him. It's a gut feel but no.

As others have said, May will not leave riff. They will find away to keep him happy. Of course why would you give up a gig with the top team in the comp, even silly money would not work.

We need a couple of good signings to get us through the next two years,by than our pathway system should supply a steady flow of quality players

If we miss out on Angus Crichton, I'd hone focus in on Euan Aitken at a compromised $400k and/or Jack Williams then Jackson Topine. First two provide experience, professionalism, strong line running & defensive attributes. No world beaters but solid until the likes of Tumeth, O'Kane, Kautoga, Saukuru are ready. A backrow squad of Paapali, Aitken/Williams, Blore, Seyfarth is still strong.

I have faith in Seyfarth even though many don't. He does the 1%ers that the coaches love & has that thirst to learn. I reckon in the backrow he can run good lines & as he develops further in the gym, will be more powerful to tackle break.

In two seasons, the other player in our stocks who will nail down a 2nd row spot in the 1sts is young Tumeth. He has flown under the radar this season due to back stress fractures. I've followed his progress since being an U16 NSW rep. He has made all the junior rep squads, NSW emerging blues at 19 & rises to every occasion given to him including NSW Cup last season. He is pure professionalism, just needs to add size and I just hope he can get a good run at it over the 2nd half of this season in Flegg/Cup.

Nikora’s management contacted all involved clubs that he will remain at Cronulla last night.
Euan Aitken wants 450k a year & the club has moved on from him at this point.
Angus Crichton now a main focus.
Taylan May is the clubs number 1 outside back target for 2023.
Kade Dykes appears all but done for 2023, talks discussed about him being out 30th spot for 2022 continuing

Very good update, thanks POM

Nikora is a solid player, however not that upset we missed out as he was very rocks and diamonds in my eyes …. would’ve much preferred him over Aitken thats for sure but not losing sleep over either

Both Crithcon and May are outstanding targets and would be over the moon if we get either one.

Angus would be the preference (prefer him over Nikora easily), have to go all out for him no brainer - still young and would be the perfect partner to keep Papalili happy

May seems unlikely but at least try make Penrith sweat and not allow them to re-sign him on unders…. if the clearys really cared about him and we offered a good sum more they’d probably advise him to take the money (never know) let’s not forget they sacked his bro and sent him overseas

Dykes is a fantastic acquisition if true, hope we’re still looking at Hopgood

All in all, very happy with how we seem to be handling recruitment with both Madge and Sheens…. seems promising

It all just feels like history repeating to me. Wests Tigers miss another target, another one, and another one.

All this Crichton talk is going to lead to another rejection.

The fact Kevin Proctor is in the conversation as one of the most underwhelming players in the competition makes me believe that’s who we will end up with.

It will be a huge blunder if he ends up here.

It will confirm that as much as things change, Wests Tigers remain the same.

Nikora is staying at Sharks

Kepaoa's hands are worse than either of them.I

Kepaoa's hands are worse than either of them.
Initially was but IMO, this boy is on the the rise
I think with confidence, Asu is growing
Im looking forward to seeing him get better with every game.

He also does the dirty Noffa ball returns. Doesnt mind contact for a skinny guy and i personally appreciate that
I remember Tim Molzten wouldnt run in to bigger guys and to some extend not put himself in front of them

specialist centre. if AJ can finally get some time in the centres I think he'll prove his worth.

Bring in Scolari, Jordan Hill or the young Eels' flyer then there is the option to play Kepaoa and Toa in the centres.
