Wests Tigers Coaches

Not to ruin the post, but Wests Tigers were founded in 1999, with the actual season in 2000, we’re already upto 9 coaches.

While the others on that list as bad as us is Titans founded in 2007, for the rabbits, 10 coaches since 1908 shows what we probably need to achieve.
The Rabbits have had 10 coaches since 2000. The list is the number of coaches those clubs have had since we've been on the field.

99 wasnt even a full compeition win... im too drunk to even argue here, though elts pick this up tomorrow/today... 2003 was the dawn of the Bellamy era. Real studs dont evaporate for a couple of yrs.
97 was super league. 99 was a full competition.

Brett Kimmorley may not have been Andrew Johns standard, but he was a very good player, having led Melbourne to a gf win and played for NSW and Australia. His form dipped for a time at Cronulla, but he had a late career revival at Canterbury.

This is absolutely rubbish talk! He was mates with him, Cleary just wanted to lick his sons $$$. The main reason our club is considered a basket case is how we look after our players eg, long term injuries like tuaki an the like, and how we look after outer club legends like benji and Farah. Seriously as a player looking to come to us and seeing how we treated our legends at the end of their careers, would u come here??? Then players like tuaki who ruined their lives playing for us and even the one armed bandit in the coaches box, we have done a poor job in their long term welfare. But recently I see tuaki working for us with an outreach program, is steps in the right direction. And then there’s the supporters who do the same white ant all our club legends and management, seriously if u were a player and read our forum u would never come here!!

I totally disagree with the hate for Pascoe, he has totally fixed our back of house financially, got us a centre of excellence, getting an academy in Campbelltown, and as most of u wingers said he doesn’t have the football knowledge. So he then employees sheens for that side of the equation. But that’s then not good enough and u white ant him for not being involved enough?!!
Can’t win with u lot..,

He played for Australia when he was at the Hunter fn Mariners….
He also kept Joey out of the seven jersey for NSW for at least one Origin series.

Good post Alltheway.
Other posters have tried to pinpoint a dominant gene in our DNA without much success imo, but you have .
I agree, we have treated our one club heroes in a deplorable way and as a consequence done huge damage to our brand and demoralised our playing group.
When Madge arrived, he held up a mirror and attempted to change that, so it seems we are now on the right path.
Now that Madge has gone, we really need to make sure this never happens again.
We need to build the reputation of our players.

Yep…
Member of the 300 club
Represented his country 22 times
Represented his state 10 times
Led Melbourne to a Premership in 1999
Won the Clive Churchill Medal in that GF win
Led Melbourne to a WC Challenge victory in 2000
Dally M halfback of the year 2000
Head Coach (interim) of an NRL Club
…what a shit career.
🤣

Would it be in the best interests of the Cowboys to part ways with Payton at the end of the year if he has signed with us for 2024. Food for thought.

Don’t mind a young coach at all for this next stage. Assistant coaches will be super important to the success of that though. Reckon assistant coaches play a huge role in how good teams go in modern footy setups. Wonder who a Ciraldo or Morris would bring in to work with them if they got the gig?

You have made some extremely relevant points, but was put off a little by the reference to Simon Dwyer as "the one armed bandit in the coaches box."

It’s no secret that I don’t see a lot of positives with this club, but this is one of the dumbest things I have ever read about anything. You’re ranting about players not wanting to come to the club because a former player suffered the misfortune of having his career ended in a tackle of which many considered a dog shot. What that had to do with our club, God only knows. Think before you write such ignorant BS

One for @Merlot

Could we see a Barrett Hastings reunion?

I’d set up a game show kind of event -we could capture it on video and turn it into another item in the dwindling ticketed members show bag. The bag gets bigger in size but lighter every year. The fridge magnet of Madge always slid off anyway.

Sort of blind date where three players have to guess the assistant coach behind the curtain.
The assistant coach is Barrett with a bag over his head in case a player fakes an injury and cheats.

A player panel of three. We need Hastings to win, so we have to get two other players who are slightly dumber. That could be anyone at the moment. Brooks is a good bet to fail, so he’s in for sure.

Hastings wins and after the curtain is pulled back, there’s a surprised look on Trent and Hastings faces and then a good matey embrace with tears.

Then of course a proper nrl mate date with grand theft auto, golf, a night on the sleaze at the West Ashfield gaming room ( dragging in stunned patrons to celebrations when they win) dinner with two blonde wags of other team mates and two kebabs each on the way home.

Last words before they leave for their own homes are

Jackson: I’m sorry Trent, I didn’t mean to beat the shite out of DCE and half of your backline.

Trent: My son, love is never having to say you’re sorry!

No one is pinning anything on this. Quite the opposite. We want him to come here and do what he did at the Panthers with our talented juniors. If he happens to bring a few promising players that's a bonus

Disagree. I think the reason is he has turned those players into great first graders and now representative players.

Show me one player Madge has done the same with
Madge could have done the same with the Cowboys juniors.
Show me what could Payten have done with ours .
