Wests Tigers Coaches

ALERT: Verified Rumour.

Just got some dirt that the Co-action Against Ciraldo might like ( although I’m for him, we are a democracy).

He has his favourites. You pretty much get in his good books and the guy under you is off to the Titans for unders.

You cross him, you’d better look out.

If Tim thinks he can influence him, no that shan’t be happening.

His way or the highway.

I will try to source more secret Ciraldo stuff tomorrow.

Source: Former Panther Junior

And as bonus for readers of this thread, most of what BJ said when he left was unfortunately true according to one of his team mates via my footy mate.

Another world first exclusive for WT forum!
Remind me again what BJ said?

Well he has a few options here.

1) He could just not go on radio shows;
2) If he feels he must go on radio shows, he could place conditions around questions asked of him relating to recruitment; or
3) He could just flat out "no comment" any such questions.

Seems more like he just enjoys sieving little tidbits of information.
Attention seeker. Holding up the #7 like an immortal.

Stick to law.

I will only publish stuff if I trust the source. That source knows a lot of players and has a relative playing. If it’s wrong into his ears, it’s wrong in my posts.

But I gather from the above, CC wants results sooner rather than later. The development thing from Tim and co, i think that’s been overdone. They are courageous though, suggesting 5 more years of hell. Some of us will pass away by then. I hope not, but…
Hanging out for St George to get Jack of Griffen is my bet.

Wasnt there also the question of medical clearances before the contracts were signed. I recall somewhere that at least Packer and maybe one of the others (Matulino?) refused to get a medical clearance and we still singed them. If true the WT reps who recommended and signed the contract should be out.
Iv never heard of anything like this, if that occurred then no question whoever allowed such a practice should never be allowed to set foot in the joint again.

I recall, Knights put Matolino through a fitness test and he failed. We didnt.
However. We also recently did the same with Josh Hodgson and he didn’t pass to our liking leading to purchasing Api instead.
So we’re improving on that front

That's good to hear, still can't believe we would spend hundreds of thousands on a contract for a player who has either never had of failed to pass a fitness test that's madness.

I think if Hodgson got an immediate release we would have took him and not signed Api. We went after Api after the Hodgson deal fell over.

It was mentioned though by the journos that we hesitated because of the fitness of his knee. May of just been fluff to soften a blow.

The club currently has a stink about it. What are the factors that cause a stink / help remove it:

- club and board (is it divisive or unified, finances, leadership, attracting sponsorship, facilities (eg COE), culture.

- football operations: pathways, recruitment, support of coaches and players.

- coach (and assistants): reputation, also recruitment, man management, culture, coaching ability, tactics.

- players: fitness, commitment, desire, professionalism, passion, synergy with each other, ability, culture.

- fans: do they come to games, member numbers, passion, positivity / negatively on forums.

- media: do they write positive or negative articles (as an aside I see this as really important in turning around a stink. If the fans are negative, how do you expect players to want to come? Media also feeds off that stuff and their reporting is key to building a good or bad reputation).

All the above are what contribute to your brand. Right now I’d say our only pass marks are: finances, COE, and pathways…and maybe potential.

So in terms of a potential next coach what appointment would be the biggest strike for the club? What would bring positive media, fan hope, player development potential, the best ability to attract some new good signings, etc. I’d say that is (whether it is rightly deserved or not) the hottest name on the market. Ciraldo. It would be a coup if he chose us and would be a feather in our cap. Might also play a big role in tackling some of the points above that help remove the stink.

Not to say he is destined to succeed (or any of the potential coaches for that matter), but being the club to land the man most in demand would certainly improve our brand overnight.

Whoever comes in though I will support and dare to dream that we can build some sustainable success.
Heh @88 You've put a lot of thought into this post, well done 👍

9 news are reporting that Ciraldo will knock back both the Tigers & Bulldogs and remain with Penrith
reading this does not even surprise me at all these days unfortunately....

I cannot see us getting Payton either so it looks like we are back to square 1 and having a lucky dip..

Come on guys , we all know that these would be great coaches only want to turn up at 3-4 teams , because they don’t want to coach they just want the best players who only need a little direction , if they really thought they where a good coach u would take anything just to get a start . Sign Morris and move on
If this is true, then he is soft. Maybe he’s happy giving Ivan toe massages after training.
