Luciano Leilua

That's the best bench we've ever had...
Ava, Sue, Taupau & Gavet.

You're right , the players are out there....

Topine, Tapine, Doorey, Pele, Leniu.....
Gotta get the deals done.
The equivalent to the then Tapau is the following.
Bunty Afoa
Royce Hunt
Oregan Kaufusi
Sipley Topa..
Emre Gruler.
Unfortunately each of the above are either locked up or not locked on us as an option.

I am OK with this decision.

Whatever you want to say about sending messages or putting in, Tigers are not playing finals in 2022. Not only is it mathematically nearly impossible, Tigers already made that call by axing the coach.

Once you calm down and accept that 2022 can only remain to serve 2023, then all these decisions make sense and you focus on the future.

There's a story there...

I don't think it was Sheens, may have even been Madge.

Wanted to move from 20s to the top job but it didn't work out.
Think it was potter, supposedly he was in the background causing issues which led to Smith coming in and doing a review which led to potter not being renewed, if I remember properly I think the club let paytens contract expire without renewal aswell. He applied for the coaches position but our fantastic brains trust gave the gig to Taylor who set the.joint back 20 years by the time his 3 years were done.

I think we'd all prefer he played to the highest level we all know he's capable of week in week out
Some things rotten at this club where players can become so apathetic in their profession... This is a result of an underlying symptom that's been eating away at the club for years
I think it’s weirdly the burden of expectation of underperforming. If that makes sense .
There’s just always so much noise around the teams mediocrity, that many find themselves sucked into that expectation .
Chuck in the fact many are realistically mercenaries ,if we are being honest ,when that time comes to take the harder option . They chose the opposite because they by and large don’t care deeply about the club .
I think AD ,Twal and Simpkins , show me they truely care about the club .
Brooks and nofa do too , but they’re time has come I think . Which is a shame as even thier biggest haters could never acuse them if quitting on the team . Especially brooks .
The rest I dunno . I guess we will see .
This is our biggest issue .
There’s not enough people within the club who have truely bought into the club .
And it’s our history that’s a big contributor to that as well .

Easy come, easy go.

Not too fussed either way and makes sense to prioritise his monies on future seasons with this one well gone. He seemed to have checked out already anyway.

Got a couple of spots to fill, so looking forward to their naming.

This situation is nothing like how we rolled over for Matterson and Aloiai.

Its definitely the right call to let him go, use the money to either ease next years cap, or entice an extension out of someone by giving them extra this year.

Can't believe people think this is us rolling over again. It's nothing like the other situations due to where we are on the table. If we were in the hunt for the 8 we would have kept him, no doubt.
It makes sense financially, but it rips the heart out of the squad.

Have management openly given up on 2022?

Will they let Kelma and Garner go if asked also??

Lol how does Lucy fit into this?

He was already signed for next year on a 700k year deal with the Cowboys, Madge said he wasn’t going to match the deal because he won’t pay overs.
MT, it doesn't really relate directly to Leilua at all. Some of the prior discussion in this thread triggered my thought about developing talent that then leaves because of our ongoing poor performance at all levels.

The biggest issue is he is happy to pack up and walk out on his team.

Those are the players we need to remove. They contribute to the no heart performance.
And by granting the release the club formalise and perpetuate the culture of players having a tanty to get to get out of your contract.

Maybe we don't have many players at our club that have real "footy nouse"- could that be a big part of the problem ?

I'm sure Garner won't turn his back on us this season...it's a real pity that he's going as I think he is one of our more "devoted" players-he puts in 100% each game

JT was the biggest flog to ever be involved at the the Tigers worse than Lamb and Alan Jones,it is also quite probable that he was the worst flog to be involved at Wests.A couple of blokes i know who either played for the Bears or closely where connected to them also hated him
