WestsLife podcast

Oh God, don’t set me off again. My post this morning was a joke (at my own expense).

But I now have to respond to your post - how in hell is the naming of a stand after a former Wests great (whether mentioned on a pod or not) a Wests/Balmain discussion? Would you prefer we simply ignore everything prior to the joint venture. That’s ridiculous. In fact it’s Orwellian.

As to the marketing of the stand naming.
Yes, the Wests Tigers did absolutely nothing (apart from Tim Sheens attending). The Wests Magpies on the other hand publicised it heavily on their social media platforms in the week or so preceding the event.

Given both pods feature all ex Balmain fans - very little chance of a Wests/Balmain tussle taking off there 🥴

Not everyone follows lower tier football social media....
For the most part WM's have seemed more than happy to do their own thing.
This is no different...
It's unfortunate the occasion has been overlooked, But if it was as well publicised as you imagine....
I'd assume anyone who wanted to be, was there - That should be enough, no?

Many people actually appreciate when someone speaks their mind.
Yes 💯....speak our mind in a 'respectful way' and the whole world will listen.
Otherwise we are just wasting our time and breath as people will get their back up and turn off and walk away, as they will feel they are being threatened.

Thanks mate! Drummer for life! Really enjoyable hobby.

That’s just my opinion FYI. My favorite hobby is playing drums, yours is listening to podcasts you hate just to whine online about them. Both equally valid.
G;day @The Loud Drum: I love to listen to drums/drumming .
Top Secret Drum Corps absolutely blows my mind for their skill and showmanship.
I used to go to Pratten Park and Lidcombe Oval to watch the Maggies play, but haven't been to a game since early last year when Wests Magpies V Penrith at Lidcombe when the Maggies were red hot favourites to win but instead got thrashed
The drumming I hear on tv of Wests Tigers games is boom boom boom.......boom boom boom.
Is that all you do?

Sometimes I bang bang bang too.

I can't believe the thought process in sending a somewhat "Polite" text message requesting him to appear, after not so delicately shit canning him, The Club, Management etc. for hours a week, year after year.. I don't know if I'm shocked or amused.

We hate you - relentlessly, We think you're shit, You don't know how to do your job...
We can't control what we say, or how we say it....
But a quick smile and an invite to come over should fix everything...
😲😲😲
Lee H. did the rite thing by turning down the offer to appear on their podcast.

I've never listened, but I imagine with everything that has been spewed out towards Lee and Our Club, he would probably feel he could be walking into a trap, even if the podcast people said beforehand they would be respectful.

Being a big hitting tough Lawyer with tons of experience, I'm sure he would be aware of all the twists and traps available to people that want to misuse them.
If it happened that a load of the usual stuff is thrown at him, he may feel he cannot contribute in a positive way and have no alternative but to walk out....and how would that look.

But I cant understand why a bloke like him didnt send a more appropriately worded inability.

Probably feeling the pressure, plus he’s not really a person for self reflection.

He’s easy to contact, but just like the forum, the submission to him is best made in a constructive way.

You write to him on the assumption that whatever his many failings, he’s doing his best or thinks he is.

He’s a strange figure.

If we miss cc, things may get worse upstairs because it seems we are all in,

Dangerous policy and if it’s not cc, the next coach knows he’s second choice. Plus cc has been sold as the second coming. I might ask Lee how many applications we have received, I’d say about 20 at least.

Back to Lee, spending time justifying your existence to fans is a bit bizarre and unusual. So be it. Strange expression of accountability.

I won't listen to another podcast. Way too negative and the personal verbal garbage about the chairman and others is terrible regardless of what you think of them.

To be fair Lee may have made some mistakes in the past he might like to get around a bit. But he puts alot of his own money into the tigers and has secured heaps of funding. I'm sure he will get the coe at cambo done and also upgrade Leichhardt oval. He has brought sheens in to take us to the next level. Lee is a passionate man he loves the tigers like the rest of us.

Given we are once again, a ‘development club’. And given the Magpies NSW Cup and junior reps are where a hefty number of this development is coming from ... if I were setting up to gas bag with some authority and quite some venom, for hours every week about everything Wests Tigers - I would have thought following the Magpies social media may have been a fairly relevant source of info.

It’s not hard, you just go to Wests Magpies and hit ‘follow’ - the information then finds you 😜

Interestingly one of the other members of Wests Life poddy went as far as to say he doesn’t support Wests NSW Cup side 🤣🤣🤣🤣 .
They are funny fellas -“Go the Tiges” 🤔

Today's Tele - someone deemed it newsworthy

Wests Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis has become embroiled in an ugly off-field spat after describing criticism from a 50-year supporter on a podcast as “disgraceful, hypocritical and intimidating.”
Hagipantelis sent Wests Tigers fan Rob Bechara — who co-hosts the popular Westslife podcast a text saying: “The venom with which you spew forth your abuse is disconcerting if not disgraceful.”

Fans said Hagipantelis was “disrespectful” after also he took aim at Bechara for not being a financial member of the club.

Took long enough.

New ep up too.

Clearly were saving this one up for a no footy week.

It's the first time seeing this pic and I'm embarrassed.
Any ex magpie player from the era is more fitting than Lee holding up the retired 7 jersey.
Pure self indulgence. The self appointed hero nobody asked for or wants.
That moment in hindsight I have no doubt that the club would have had a family member there holding that jersey.
Just didn't really seem appropriate

As Matchball said there should have been one of Tommy's former teammates receiving that jersey. Christ, did anyone think to ring Roy Masters? Les Boyd, John Dorahy, Bruce Gibbs, Warren Boland, even Mick Liubinskas...

Any one of them would have had more meaning to Tommy than the Fedora.

Agreed,it should have been a Magpie person and not a WT person involved in the short ceremony. If a Balmain legend was to die i would not want Lee involved either (Pearce excluded as he was our first coach)

I have to think there were people that thought it was a bad idea but didn't voice it to the Hat. I just can't believe that everyone involved thought it was a good idea. As an organisation, surely they cant have 100% incompetence. 85% would be ok.

Yeah.

I'm still angry about that game. They could have lost every other game that year. That was the one that they had to win and they couldn't do it. Gutless performance, should have been booed off at half and full time at every home game for the rest of the year.

Even Skando could have received it. He works for the club and Tommy gave him his debut.

Anyone see the Hagipantelis' text messages that were leaked ?

Apparently texts messages posted by Rob Bechara on Twitter, claiming to have been from Lee.
