Wests Tigers Coaches

Which is why you have sheens teach him no coach in their right mind comes here they know they're on borrowed time you have people who have been with the club previously like Benji , Robbie , Fulton you build a culture at the joint
Always appreciate your input Lees, but this time i have to disagree....Sheens hasnt coached in the NRL for over 10 years,so he is going to coach his old players in todays game and the WTs suddenly become the jugonauts of the NRL...please mate the old boys club needs to be far away from us as possible this is 2022 not 2005...the game, players, coaches have moved on from that years ago....

When I say accidentally, I mean it came years earlier than he was planning. No one was more surprised with our finish in 05 than the club itself.
Ffs, stop this soft wussy nonsense, especially from you.

It was “accidental” because the likelihood of us winning the comp, could not possibly have been the result of anything deliberative or purposeful we did.

The earth entered into the orbit of the ghostly space Magpie, from a distance, he swooped down ethereally and put paid to the dreams of those who drew their plans against us.

We totally jagged it, threaded the needle, everyone else can kiss our ass.

They’ll be no turning the other cheek from you I hope.

Thats great theory if you want a team of players who play off the cuff ....he has no idea of coaching NRL standard forwards,he played how he wanted off the back of a pack of top players in Ellis,Farah,Hieno etc...please give me a break...experience is whats needed, not emotional blah, blah ,blah....No disrespect to your input Telltails....
All good TT . I'm a fan and the positives for me far out weigh the negs.He has a big media presence and if he is providing some positivity about the club to the younger players than Im all for it, even if it goes no further than that. We have got to get them invested first in the club before they can progress any further and in that role I think he is exactly the right person to do it. He has a great story and young players need to have vision from someone who has lived it.

Sheen's taught the team how to defend, catch a ball and pass the 1st few years, open honest about it,becaue he saw those skills lacking,if thats the track were going down again ,so be it,if we are developing players why not our cooaches as well,

You are really putting the boot into Marshall??? The best player ever to play for the wts and one of the best players to ever play the game. Give yourself an uppercut.

I agree - that makes him a head coach though? Really?

Oh hang on, he’s got the 70 yr old bloke who failed at the same club with better players and whom he had sacked 10 years ago to show him how to do it…

Don’t worry about an upper cut - Burn it down!!

Ps: Gareth Ellis was WT’s greatest ever player - and it’s not close

You clearly have a bias against a lot of players, and it's blatantly obvious if your going to claim Ellis is wt's greatest player.

Bias - how so?
Just calling it as it is….

Out of interest, How does Ellis winning % at WTs stack up against anyone else considered a club great?

Benji "What about me" Marshall....
Seriously - He couldn't get himself to do it properly most of the time after 20 odd years...

How the hell is he going to get 20 Young Blokes to?
He wasn’t exactly a great on field coach was he. Couldn’t game manage an under 7’s game.

If you’re talking from a consistency POV, he’s top 2, hands down. Players like Marshall and Lawrence who had the potential at their peak, but weren’t consistent year in year out. I feel guilty lobbing Rowdy in with Benji because injury killed him, but it’s true nevertheless. Ellis was great and never had a bad game.

I would suggest that since we’ve been utter dross since Gaz left - and in his last injury filled year, that he had a fair influence over the results of the team.
The greatest players don’t always have the greatest highlight reels (you can watch Cameron’s smiths highlights to verify that if you like)
Interestingly - Benji has claimed - more than once, Gareth Ellis is the greatest player he’s ever played with…. Which would rule out all other club legends bar the man himself you’d think.

I can’t be far off

If we Recruited two players in the mold of Gareth Ellis for next year, I wouldn't care if Humphrey Bear was the coach.
Gareth was WT greatest player ever, daylight second.
