None of it matters. We are paying him a more than fair wage for the next 3 years. Sure he didn't get a Fifita contract but that is extremely rare.

We should stop talking about it though because it's a non issue at this point. If he chooses to sit out next season that is a different matter but my take is let him sit it out.

I'm going to follow my own advice though and try and shut my peep hole on this topic. I hope the club does the same thing.

Well said Earl 🙂...not that I feel you need to shut your peep hole though.
But there is one....or maybe two others on here that need to follow your example, but not just on this issue only.

Maybe just maybe he is so focused on performing at his best for his current team being Parramatta, he doesnt want to let his thoughts get sidetracked by talking about WT atm with the possibility of saying the wrong thing.
But I certainly do agree with prev posts on here that he could have said a lot of things to settle Our minds.

"He's a good mate ... but that's all I really have to say at the moment."

Tigers five-eighth Adam Doueihi urged Papali'i to honour his contract, saying the joint venture had plenty to offer.

"We're definitely a club on the rise," he said.

"We've made another really good signing in (dual premiership-winning hooker) Api Koroisau for next year. And with Tim, Benji and Robbie coming on board, it's only going to be good for us.

"If (Papali'i) comes, it's definitely going to be a big boost for us on the edge."

Garner 'spewing' about Webster's NRL move​

Wests Tigers second-rower Luke Garner has admitted he was “spewing” when he heard Andrew Webster would begin coaching the Warriors next year, denying the pair a chance to reunite at Penrith.
Panthers coach Ivan Cleary and his assistant Webster handed Garner his NRL debut when all three were at the Tigers in 2018.
Garner said the chance to play under Cleary and Webster again was a major reason he signed with Penrith for 2023.
“I know Ivan very well and Andrew Webster was here as well but unfortunately (Webster) won’t be there next year,” Garner said.
“I was pretty spewing about (his move to the Warriors) but I’m stoked for him to get a head coach role, I know that’s what he wanted.
“I know a couple of the boys (at Penrith). They’re a good side as well so there were a couple of things that made me make that decision.”
Webster was defence coach during his time at the Tigers but since arriving at Penrith ahead of the 2021 season, has overseen the Panthers’ attack which produced more points than any other side through 17 rounds.
Garner said Webster was ready to make the move to head coach.
“I think Webby will do well. He was a very good coach here. You look at how Penrith are going and I’m sure he contributes to that,” Garner said.
“I’m just stoked he’s got that gig and he can show what he can do.”
Garner has the chance to come up against his soon-to-be teammates on Sunday night, when the Tigers take on an understrength Penrith at CommBank Stadium.
Cleary is giving all seven of his State of Origin representatives the weekend off but Garner said the Tigers couldn’t become complacent if they hoped to upset the Panthers, just as they did in last year’s Origin period.
“The Panthers have plenty of depth and they’re the benchmark in the NRL, so it’s never a good week to get the Panthers,” he said.
 
In my opinion, his comments are from reassuring.
I get his focus is now on Parramatta, however his comment “Whatever happens, happens”, has me nervous.

Benji will be pulling all stops to ensure he willingly comes to the Club (which he is contractually obliged too - we all know how that works out though)
 
start winning some games especially after the new appointment (even though they haven't started), might help change the perception of the joint a bit

He through together a few words and thought it'd be "okay"

I'm sure if he wanted to stay at Parra, some cards could be played... be like Teddy and have an entire fan base hate you 😂 (the raiders)
However I'm sure the legalities involved could make things quite difficult for all involved.

Some one should advise him to be quiet and focus on the footy... he's a Tiger 2023.
 
If Papali'i wants to back flip, he can do the same as Gordy did only this times he sits out 3 seasons.

Gordon Tallis Having already signed a Super League contract to play with Brisbane, the fiery North Queenslander caused controversy when he was the only player who chose to sit out the 1996 season rather than play a final year with St George.
 
The NRL needs to ensure some integrity with contracts signed and sealed
If a club entices a player successfully to breach his contract then the player should be forced to sit out the season before being able to move to the club that is encouraging the breach .

Yes, correct. We do. I don't know how you Luciano example applies? That was best for both parties.

You could argue brooks somewhat when newy tried to grab him.

But any other time someone wanted out of a contract, we've caved.
