We would be better off paying him to sit on the sidelines for 3 years and not being walked over again.
I mean to be fair we already pay players to underperform week in week out so at least showing some backbone would be a positive for once.

I think the club has said it more than once.

The club cannot allow it to happen. We have let 3 guys go who have at some point this year been our starting second rowers. We have a fourth first grade quality second rower who is still young and recovering from an ACL. After that it's kids and the market is not flush with talent in the second row.

I think of all the times we have caved in, this time won't be one purely because it will torpedo our recruitment.

We shouldn't do this. If he performs we can offer him more and extend his contract but he has signed a contract with us for 3 years and it has been registered with the NRL.

We shouldn't do it because we can use that money on other players. Maybe not next year but the following years.
