Given Doueihi's apparent love of the club I am unsure whether he would leave unless they lowball him.

A lot will ride on who they can recruit and retain. Can't see him remaining loyal if they talk the three years talk. He probably got that when he signed last time. You can be loyal but buying into something that isn't eventuating will only keep you loyal for so long..

Every losing club has one and it's usually a half or the coach. Seeing our coach is not "officially" coaching yet and Madden is a rookie Douehi will be highly scrutinised till the end of the year. It will test his resolve if his form is anything like yesterday. You can play ordinary in a winning team and no one gives a stuff, losing teams there always has to be the one that most lay blame.

The official coach is clearly not impressed with having large chunks of the team released early or loaned out. The only one to blame for poor performances this year is Sheens. Kimmorley doesn't have a lot to work with.

Time will tell if tanking this year was the right decision so 2023 is better. As it stands we have 1 player definitely coming, and another who is trying to avoid it at all costs.

Ding Dohy needs to learn how to tackle and pass to his unmarked men if he wants a spot. He should have lead that side yesterday and was terrible.
But yes forwards who go forward, more like Offa and twice his size.

Hence a new option in the halves was born out of necessity, 1 game in and people are drowning.
People they have nothing to work with really. This combo might work, who knows, I hope it does. It’s obvious JH is needed also. Preparing in these games is a lot better than a trial game. Give them both some time and against better upcoming opponent ,we will better understand where where at.

I feel you underestimate the approx. 10 yr working relationship he had with Gus prior....
We were only ever an outside chance at best.

Given Ivan was Ciraldo's mentor and refused to work with Gus again that could have been a deterrent.

If we were only an outside chance, why announce it to the world when we know how it will look if we don't get him?

You might want to learn to read before commenting. One of the players we released scored a try and had a try assist for the team now coming second. Would have been handy yesterday.

I don't think it's this bad. I also don't think we can get that many players.

We need an edge backrower desperately but after that I'm not sure. I would just be looking to get better players in at reasonable contract dollars post that point with a focus on the forwards.
