Half way through the word cup he is officially on our payroll. What a dickhead.Heard audio of him this morning saying he wouldn’t make his mind up until after the World Cup ...
No.Thanks TT I wasn’t aware of that and going off what I read/hear. So I wonder then do we gazump any Parra offer or just roll over ?
Is Lee going to be involved? I guess we're folding then.Does anyone have a link to our Chairman's interview with Vossy on SEN this morning? He apparently said we will be following up with him this morning to provide depth to these comments.
Or Roorters, Storm or the 'Riff and Wests Tigers get 600k per year for 3 years compensation and a fully paid player pick for 3 years from the signing club on their old club's cap.If we let his out of this contract then this club just shows its incompetence.
If Papali'i wants out I'd say on two conditions.
Your new contract has to be for 3 years and 25% less than the current contract and in no certain terms he can not sign for Parramatta or Bulldogs.
Nice try.We need to find him a decent second row partner to share the work, even IF it costs us Brooks.
Someone who is tossing off.tossing up a backlfip - who writes this stuff!
If you’re current employer is agitating for you to stay and you have a further few months of existing contract to complete and you are asked publicly about taking / honouring your new contract …. I think some people would choose words carefully not to alienate people in your current environment. Particularly as in this case you’re coach, selectors and fans.No surprise this was left out by every media outlet yesterday
Silence is needed so much more than what Lee dishes out.
Don't need to talk about every issue.
Bet they’re shitting themselvesParramatta want to be very very careful. They can be sued if they induce Papalii to break his contract with WT
I bet you’re rightBet they’re shitting themselves
Probably not-yet! However if they're dumb enough to offer him a new deal or do anything else inconsistent with his WT contract-different matter.Bet they’re shitting themselves
Agree, the media loves putting these blokes in a tough spot, and when they smell blood they just keep hammering away to see if they can catch a slip up.If you’re current employer is agitating for you to stay and you have a further few months of existing contract to complete and you are asked publicly about taking / honouring your new contract …. I think some people would choose words carefully not to alienate people in your current environment. Particularly as in this case you’re coach, selectors and fans.
So I’m comfortable in what he said and not about to slash my wrists about it.
WT have a registered (with no who is coaching strings attached) contract.
So please … some of you take a deep breath and reach for those blue zen pills, and chill!
agree 100%Can we lock this thread until November 1st, its causing to much angst for apparently no reason. He signed a contract thats the end of it.... see you at concord champ
“We will seek clarification today from his manager, but I don’t put a lot of stock into it," he said.
"What he was trying to say, I think if I’m reading correctly, is that he wants to focus on this year with Parramatta which is fair enough. It’s well known that we enjoy a contractual relationship with Isaiah and we very much look forward to welcoming him to the club in 2023.
"I expect there will be phone calls made this morning for clarification – just to provide an opportunity for Isaiah and his manager to provide a little bit more depth to those comments. We are very comfortable with where we sit.
“If he wanted to say more, I’m sure he will – either himself directly or through his manager. I don’t want to read into his comments and I don’t want to create any angst between the club and the player.
"I’ll try and put the most positive spin on it and say he is focused on the rest of this year."
