Apologise to Madge HERE

Of course the Mbye in halves and Doueihi in the centres looked good against one of the only teams worse than us.
Have to go back to Doueihi in the halves next week.

Have you seen our defence? We have incompetent Muppets being poorly coached by incompetent fools

Ferguson isn't a fullback?

Maybe but, he destroyed the Tigers from fullback when he was at the Roosters, the Tigers need a organiser in defence, Ferguson is a great talker & Laurie is great under the high ball. I would have Ferguson defending at fullback with Laurie in defence on the wing switching in attack. This would help Laurie develop & Ferguson can also play centre if needed.

That’s terrible.
Laurie is either good enough to play fullback or isn’t.
Fergo hasn’t played fullback for years he doesn’t have the motor anymore. To switch between defence and attack with the speed of the game this year there is no chance that would work.

Some of our players make bad decisions when attacking in defense having the best talking fullback won’t resolve that.

Ferg is cooked.
We want to get away from overpaid hacks like Ferguson and our very own flop.. BJ and his son, Talau.

Where's Bilal Maarbaani?

So who was foolish enough to apologise to Madge
He was simply clutching at straws last week trying something new and fluked a win Against a team missing its star players
Our team is pathetic
And I am beginning to think, so is our coaching
We I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about how pathetic our team is, it is telling me it is time to walk away from following this team and the Nrl
I am sick of the constant disappointment this team brings me
It is not going to change any Tim soon
Another year of no finals
Can't sign an elite player
No end in sight
I don't know why I do it
If our players give up, why shouldn't I
I have been disappointed many times in my life but nothing has ever disappointed me more then the results this team dishes up year after year
I know my state of mind would be far better off without this team in my life
Why do I do it I ask myself
Why do any of us follow this team when they make us feel like this
I can't wait till the season is finished because I don't want to hear about this team any more

I guess one more win for the season and we can have a statue built of him

25 minutes is up mate ...any apologies ...or has the cat got their tongues

No apologies.

I can safely say that the tigers are the only team who would concede despite having an extra man on the field.

Coach is shit.

Players are shit.

Any tigers player on more than $100/year is overpaid.

Unfortunately I have to agree with EYERYTHING you are saying in this post....I thought I was the only fool that has been affected mentally by following the WT's..

.I too find myself waking up in the middle of the night or getting up at the crack of dawn to find out if we won or lost generally it's been the latter:disappointed_relieved:
I think for our sanity we need to walk away from this club/team, as they do seem to be hopeless, they are just so disappointing ...they just simply can't win 2 in a row, what other team in the NRLis this pathetic,,,,,,there I can't believe I've actually said this:crying_cat_face:

I think some on here that have no patience to see how a hard taskmaster in our coach Madge works differently to a coach who has everything in his favour to do his job,can now see how this team is starting to form...
JTJ on the wing getting ball....great..
Mbye in the halves...Brooks left to play his natural game..
Douhie to centres and playing very well...
Laurie getting more involved and progressing well...
Michaeli getting better and better..
I can keep going on the positives that have been seen by many .although there is still a lot of improving to go yet...

Madge just needed to be left alone and supported to do his job...he will put us on a very good platform when his tenure is up...
well done so far Madge...lets keep the improvements and recruitment of quality players coming..

This is my opinion only and many others have their own ....if we were all the same it would be a very boring world....

Lets see how things go the next few weeks up against some decent teams. Drags we’re missing a bunch of players last night. I’m not expecting wins, but if we throw the towel in early then really nothings changed

I agree, but winning form is good form and just maybe Madge is starting to get players in positions that benefit the team as a whole that makes them work very well as a unit...Panthers will be a huge ask,but I reckon the confidence is building amongst our boys and they may be a strong opposition for the Panthers to beat....its up to both sides Panthers on a winning streak for a long time and WTs starting to get things right,,,

The $150k ‘masterstroke’ and bold coaching call that gave Madge the last laugh
May 29th, 2021 10:30 am
Terrific Tigers down dull Dragons
Three weeks ago a frustrated Michael Maguire fronted the media desperate for answers.

Less than seven days prior the Tigers finally showed signs of turning a corner, holding the Dragons to just one try in a 16-8 win.

They followed it up by letting in six against the Gold Coast the following round, with Maguire labelling it “pretty embarrassing”.

The inconsistency that has so long plagued the Tigers was once again all anyone could talk about and Maguire demanded more accountability from his players.

“I’m not going to come up with any excuses, we as a group need to do that (find solutions) and do that fast,” he said.

Maguire would make a major team change the following week but it was one no-one saw coming.

Adam Doueihi was a shining light in an otherwise dismal 36-28 defeat to the Titans, finishing with three linebreak assists, two try assists and a try.

“I’ve loved what I’ve seen from him in the halves and he is getting better with every performance,” Fox League’s Braith Anasta said at the time.

Then he was inexplicably shifted to the centres with Moses Mbye brought in to partner Luke Brooks in the halves.

It had everyone - including some Tigers players - confused with Mbye himself telling the Sydney Morning Heraldat the time “we were a little bit surprised”.

“Adam has been our best player this season, what we get out of this I don’t know yet,“ he added.

“It could be a masterstroke by Madge”

The early signs suggest it could be exactly that with Doueihi continuing to impress in his new role while Mbye has also offered another ball-playing option in the spine.

It has then freed up Luke Brooks to take on the line more and focus on his kicking game, which has been accurate since the Titans loss.

Doueihi again played a key role in the centres against the Dragons on Friday, busting four tackles and setting up a try after a lovely pass from Daine Laurie.

His decision-making under pressure in attack has added an extra element to the Tigers’ ball movement out wide and the impact has been telling according to Fox League experts.

“I think he is a five-eighth as well but he’s got a bit more space,” Greg Alexander said post-game.

“I think he is a natural ball runner so he played a lot of positions but at the moment and in the last two weeks from Magic Round onwards he has been outstanding in the centres. He’s still getting try assists and scoring tries.”

Corey Parker, meanwhile, added that Doueihi’s varied skillset makes him a dangerous option to go to on the last play.

“He gives them another option, particularly if they want to run on the last he has a good kick in him so they can go two passes wide and if it shuts down he can put in a kick,” he said.

“It was a tough one at the time. There were parts of his game and the Tigers were not going that great and it was like what is Madge Maguire doing here and we had an opinion on it but since then he’s been going really well and there is a really good combination out on the right edge.”

Maguire confirmed after the Dragons win that he is settled on the switch.

“Moses has found himself working really well with Brooksy and Adam’s really comfortable in the centres and he’s doing a really good job there,” he said.

“We were able to move Adam in-field when we needed to. One thing about the players is whatever position you get chosen in you go out and perform.”

Maguire and the Tigers have also been lauded for snaring former Panthers fullback Daine Laurie, who according to NRL.comjoined the club on a deal worth around $150,000 this season.

Laurie played just three games at the Panthers but has gone on to feature in all 12 of the Tigers’ matches this season and has quickly established himself as one of the league’s rising stars.

“He’s really coming along,” Maguire said.

“He played a couple of games before he got here and the more experience he has the better he’s getting with his connection with his spine.

“You can see him chiming in out the back so he’s continually growing.”

Laurie’s stats line alone speaks volumes to his increased involvement in the side - he has four tries, six try assists, nine linebreak assists, nine linebreaks and averages 131 metres from 12 games.

Panthers board member and Fox League expert Greg Alexander admitted the club may regret letting the young fullback leave but conceded he was just “too good” to keep.

“He’s a super talent,” Alexander told Fox League.

“He was too good a player to keep at Penrith. I desperately wanted to but there were too many in front of him.

“Who knows, in a couple of years by the time Daine has played a fair bit of first grade Penrith may look back on that and go: ‘Maybe we should have kept Daine’ but they are the decisions you have to make as a club.”

Having watched Laurie come up through the systems at Penrith, Alexander said the youngster’s kick returns was the biggest area of improvement needed at NRL level.

“He’s a courageous, little player but he is looking stronger,” Alexander said.

“I’ve been impressed with the way he is carrying the ball back. From the start of the season he was cannon fodder bringing the ball back but he looks stronger and that’s only the last couple months he has built up and he needed to.”

Laurie told Fox League pre-game of how watching some of the competition’s best fullbacks had helped mould his game and Parker said that was clear to see in the way he plays.

“The good thing about Daine Laurie is he mentioned to us before the game he looked up to these players,” Parker added.

“You can see a definitive change from game one to where he is now and how his game has evolved from watching other players - the likes of Tedesco, Trbojevic. His involvements in the back field, his support play. He has turned into a really good acquisition.”

The Tigers have now won two of their last three but that loss to the Warriors last week remains proof that consistency continues to elude Maguire’s men.

The rapid rise of Laurie and bold Doueihi move has the Tigers currently just two points outside of the top eight but the club’s greatest challenge comes in the next four weeks.

With the Panthers, Eels, Storm and Rabbitohs to come before the bye, the month of June will be telling in whether the Tigers finally break their finals curse.

Disagree..Overall it was the best defensive performance of the season....the Dragons were controlled in the middle of the field not one of there forwards cracked 100m..

Individuals such as Doueihi Brooks and even Nofoaluma made TRY saving tackles on the line.. Doueihi’s tackle one on one was outstanding..the team scrambled extremely well.. there were clear signs they were working for each other that has been lacking most of the year..

The Dragons TRY from Normans kick was well constructed even the best defensive teams would have found hard to stop.. Hunt’s TRY was a poor individual effort from Mr Tamou getting back into the line..

Absolute Garbage from the Tigers

72 - 6 against the Roosters

Imagine that this would have been 150 - 6 if Madge was here (Sarcasm)

Shame on the club for removing Madge who at the time of his removal at least had a team that was playing with purpose despite the poor results.

He was in charge of a few floggings too.
