This kills me. Can you remember when JT let Taupau go ? I remember him stating so confidently it was an easy decision to make and they let him go early. The idea was we are building this spine to lead us forward. They left anyway. We lost a guy coming into his peak who was good for nothing.

Aloiai has torn us to pieces. Yep he is a no good person but the dude can play. We let Matterson go as well. Another dud person.

We let Luc go. If we had kept Luc we'd have a gun second row pairing.

Next year will be interesting. We have some good forwards coming through. I hope the club somehow manages their cap better but I don't have any confidence at all with Sheens managing the cap. I have some confidence Sheens might get them playing better footy though.

Aloiai is like one of those guys on the highway that only starts doing the speed limit when you go to overtake him....
He's OK (Not worth what he's getting paid) But he really turns it on against us.

He doesn't play that well the majority of the time.

Taupau's numbers have been like 800+ for the last few years...
Manly tried to move him for some time - Couldn't find a buyer.

Yes obviously Api and I have gut feeling Rua will be a good back up

If we want top 4 or even top 8 next year it's simple just recruit 3 powerforwards similar to Papalii .They must be able to crash thru the advantage line. Also recruit 2 centers like Ramien or Olam as our centers not up to it .
Well easier said than done I want 5 recruits and how are we doing so far ?
So Far zero ! What worries me is I think Tim and Benji have been trying but no luck so far . Maybe November ?

Blore has been cruelled by injury. Solid defender and hopefully will kick on with the ball in hand next year as well. Going to be a lot of expectation on him so he will need to have a huge off-season.

I believe that had the off-season move to the Knights happened, the Knights (and Brooks) play finals. Behind a pack containing Klemmer, 2 x Saifiti, Frizzel, Barnett and with Ponga at the back, they just lacked direction, which he would have provided. Moot point now, but that's what I think.

That's incorrect.

If we were to extend him it would be something like

He gets the benefit of length of contract, we get to spread out his value evenly across all seasons.

Even at 600k he's overpaid. 500k would be about right considering the levels his kicking game and general confidence has deteriorated too.

But also why would Brooks want to re-sign? He's shown his loyalty in the past. This may be his last contract, if he wants to have a crack at finals footy somewhere else then he'll sign elsewhere come November and push for a release. Considering the amount of crap Brooks gets for his failures here, why would he continue to set himself up to be ridiculed?
