Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It doesn't appear to be the case. Why would the WTs be able to make an offer? The Knights don't want Klemmer but want Brooks in return! Some of this forum want to give Brooks away when it is not required. It doesn't seem logical.
i didn't say to trade brooks off. the comment was if klemmer getting released for 23 hinged on brooks going to newcastle. we can sign klemmer for 24 on wards come nov 1, and we need him for 23 as well. taking him at full price is fine for 23 we have the funds, but if the full price and releasing brooks is the only way they release klemmer a year early then i would say hold off

Gday ladies and gents

I was on a flight with Jackson yesterday to LA.

I asked him if he was going to sign.

He said “I’m signed for next year… and I don’t want to move around but we’ll see”

Didn’t leave with me much hope - I’d say a 50/50.

But he was a nice guy and gave me a few minutes to chat.

Cheerio

Agreed. Hopefully Klemmer will be here in 23 with Brooks.

I'm relaxed about Hastings and Doueih. We have them for 23 and if they move on we will have the players to replace them. Doueihi I'm sure is on a good deal with his current contract and Hasting would have been offered a fair contract. Let's concentrate on those who want to be at the club.

if AD moves on I reckon we have a D Brown or Moses coming in to replace
If Hastings leaves in 2024 maybe it is Bateman that plays 13 or who knows

They're coaches.... Not miracle workers.
"Coach" a sidestep? What planet are you on?

He's a forward that doesn't do - hasn't learned - obviously doesn't watch footy (Cause he doesn't see how the good ones do it) to run on the front of his foot....
- KIDS LEARN THIS!!

If he doesn't care enough to compare himself to his peers - There is no hope for him....
- How do I know he's not looking to improve his game, Because it's not improving.

Being a good bloke that tries hard isn't going to win us a comp with this squad.
Roosters or Storm can hide a player like that... If he's starting - We're shot.
In our team, He should be 18-19th man...
Cant argue I was hoping for miracles .I was the one who pointed out the neverending 4th and 5th tackles wasted . Looking at the 27 man roster as it stands today I can't come up with 17 experienced quality 1st graders and that was having twal at 17th . This roster won't win many games

Like useless halfbacks on a $million a year?

I don’t mind the experience in signing Klemmer and Bateman, as long as the value is there. Lenui I think will get into a bit of a bidding war, and yes I’d be happy with him coming but remember he is having success off the bench not as a starting front row forward, big difference. But the potential is there to see. As for player swaps, I think if we aren’t using them or they aren’t a part of our plans then let’s swap away with whoever. I’m glad we are looking at things like this, shows the club has direction in where we want to go.

nek minute .. indeed .. the Gus Gould message denying it .. is a dead give away that this fat lying prick has been talking Laurie and trying to get over to the Dogs .. !! Never trust Gould with any thing he says .. !!
People are far too quick to let the personal feeling affect their hearing when it comes to what he actually says…

If he makes a point about saying he hasn’t spoken to the kid - finds out who reported it - hunts them down and is looking for an apology….
Fair chance what he said is correct.

I find it more ridiculous that people here think Laurie has options - he’s not holding out for a longer deal with the tigers because they’re killing it

The Wests Tigers thought they were facing a fight to keep Daine Laurie at the club after they were told that the Bulldogs were interested in the fullback.

It turns out they were being spun a line. After Confidential reported on the Bulldogs’ purported interest in Laurie, Canterbury head of football Phil Gould took to social media to slam the claims.

Gould sent this column a text saying Laurie had never been discussed and links to the Tigers No.1 were rubbish. He even suggested we owed the Tigers and Bulldogs an apology.

So here goes. Sorry guys. Won’t make that mistake again. Anyway, Gould’s proclamation is good news for the Tigers, who have tabled a one-year extension to Laurie in the hope of extending his stay at the club.

Laurie and his manager want a longer-term deal but they won’t be able to use the Bulldogs as leverage even though Gould admitted he loved Laurie. (DT)
