Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Thanks @THE_POM
Do you think we will actually get Klemmer or do you think we will have to let brooks go to make it happen?
All I want is Hastings resigned as main focus.
I suppose in the end much of this is determined by what Brooks wants to do. Id say that Sheens and co want Brooks at 7, meaning Hastings is forced to lock and i really dont see much 'love' being sent his way compared to comments made by Sheens regarding Brooks. I think Doueihi is the one that has to shift to accommodate as I think centre / fullback is the much more preferable positions for him next season rather than 6. I'd be tempted to shift Laurie to 6., at least in the trials to see how that goes.

Tommy Talau will be in the top 30.
Nu Brown was offered a fair 2 year deal to stay but wanted more, Club will not budge on the offer & expect him to leave.
Henry O'Kane was sitting on the fence last I heard, offer still on the table, believe he will stay.
As mentioned previously Albert Kelly has been spoken to about training with the club in the offseason, only other confirmed T&T at the moment is Brandon Mansfield.

Appreciate that @THE_POM and hopefully Liam Scolari lands in out T&T list as well.

I don’t claim to know it either but The Pom said we had offered to pay $800k to Klem and they wanted a swap with Brooks with us to kick in the $200k difference. Do the maths… he’s on a $million.
As I wrote, context is important. Whatever figure is thrown about to hit him over the head with, some of that is money owing to him from previous years.

Not sure why the ‘context’ should matter.
He’s obviously on a $million next year … which is about $600k more than he’s worth.
Why would any sane person (Sheenious) even think of extending him at half when he had to step aside from the position this year because he can’t do the job?

1. They may not be worth more to our club.
2. Munster was able to leverage a good Storm contract priot to 1 Nov.
Yeah no idea why Douhie and the rest would rest the market. They are the spine of the wooden spooners. They have showed glimpses of talent but also have shown glimpses of rubbish.

If they think they can get more they are kidding themselves. Good luck to them if they sign elsewhere. Not overqlly fussed to be honest.

Whatever figure you quote is distorted as some of that figure is money owing to him from previous year(s). This means his pa figure is lower and therefore context is important.

Douhie might be worth something to dolphins etc if he wants to test market.
I wonder if Hastings is determined to play in halves they relent and go with 7. Hastings 6 Brooks
That would leave Douhie with centre or bust at wests tigers. I wish he could have another crack at fullback

Gee if we are rid of Brooks and only have to pay 200k, that's a pretty good outcome. We didn't win a game this year with Brooks at 7.

Play Hastings at 7 where we won 2 of the 3 games, sign Klemmer and see who we can get for 2024 (possibly get them a year early with Brooks' money).
Brooks money? We're still $1m out of the salary cap, but instead of Brooks in our 30, we have Klemmer
