The Melbourne Cup

Was speaking to James Ferguson trainer of Deauville Legend yesterday (he used to train my horse Hemsworth in England) he is very very confident it wins the Melbourne Cup , price $6

Just fyi there is a horse called Hemsworth trained by Kris Lees in Newcastle. Has won a couple of races and part owned by an old friend of mine.

I onoy own 25 % of the horse, it hasn't had a run in Australia. Cheaper to buy them as 2 yr olds in England and France than tried horses, keep them over there for a few runs then bring them out and qualify them for country cups etc.
We will likely sell 50% to a breeding syndicate to be honest like Australian Bloodstock to negate costs as they get expensive to race

No it is Mr Hemsorth, we had to change the name in Europe it raced as Hemsworth
It has not raced in Australia yet

Had a few over the years ...best day was getting the fecta in the 2 races before the Cup and then nailing the Cup as well ...lot of dosh in the golf bag that day lol .....last time i was blind drunk as well .....

Will have a looksy Monday night once the field has been finalized ......

I used to own a share in five kingdom but when it was owned by David Hayes. We sold it after to leg operations and it came good.
The only other one I own now is Nevada Smoke (ex godolphin horse we bought)he runs up taree way he is ok had about 2 wins from 8 starts
