wow he knows how to run at proper speed.Thats a skill you cant teach - JAC has it. I dont even care if he can tackleHere's someone we should look at as a smokie from UK - even allowing for the average defence

That's what I thought tooThe way I read the JAC signing with the Storm was: Frank Ponissi came to Sydney earlier in the week that we played the Storm and signed JAC before he made his debut against them.

Now he's getting well wishes .This forum was ridiculing him from about Rd 2 onwards . I thought he was good in attack and a bit weak in defence as is most of our backlineAll the best. I'm sure he's reading these posts 🤣
I'm surprised we haven't released more players. No-one out there I guess.
I can't see how any cup side would be profitable or even self sustaining given the very small crowds . So I keep hearing tigers are bankrupt and Wests Ashfield has all the money .Doesn't sound like a stable relationshipThey went broke and could no longer field a side. The only reason Balmain juniors still exist is because Wests Ashfield prop them up. Had they been financial they would still have had the option to field a team in NSWcup.
Where were the Magpies in NSW cup from about 2013 until more recently? They went broke and could no longer field a side. The only reason Balmain juniors still exist is because Wests Ashfield prop them up. Had they been financial they would still have had the option to field a team in NSWcup.
Remember Chris Lawrence? His defence was awful when he was youngwow he knows how to run at proper speed.Thats a skill you cant teach - JAC has it. I dont even care if he can tackle
Sheens knows how to build a roster which suits the style of game he obviously wants to play. Despite all the doom and gloom of the Maguire hardcore, the club is in a good position. In all the years I've followed this club, I've never seen such a swift clean out.
It's only half the story though - now they need the signings to stick.
He was a great centre and clubman throughout his career. One of those backs who could hold his pace over the distance once he hit top speed. I wish we had a centre of his ability now.Remember Chris Lawrence? His defence was awful when he was young

He worked hard on his defence and he was the best hole runners we had. Running off Marshall was one of the best recollections I have of his game. His injury was most unfortunate.Absence makes the heart grow fonder ay mate…
He had 2-3 years at top level, outside his pace he had too many deficiencies early on when he was a kid and then his body let him down later on….
Great fella, bit dark on him for speaking out against the club on the news inside his front door coming into that last year…
He looks to have score more tries alone than WTs scored as a team in 2022Here's someone we should look at as a smokie from UK - even allowing for the average defence

The Arborist. Love it!Sheensie should have a new nickname: The Arborist. Very good at removing dead wood. Took Madge years to clean out the mess he inherited.
Me and my mates used to call him “break even Chris” in his early years because for every try he scored he’d also let one in.Absence makes the heart grow fonder ay mate…

Thanks for the update and I like the strategic approach taken with recruitment and release of players.Gildart set to join The Dolphins with a contract announced in the coming days.
32 players featured in multiple games for WT in 2022, only 17 remain for 2023.
Fans have wanted players in before players have been released but any movement before next Tuesday is a win for the club when it comes to cap space and contracts commencing.
4 players released from ‘23 and/or ‘24 contracts in approx 6 weeks. Another important part is ‘23 contracts start being paid/honoured next Tuesday.
One criticism previously was coach/club sitting on contracts they never agreed to and then having to ride them out while always having the ‘not his player’ line rolled out. Sheens and Benji have circled the names and got to work to move players on that they didn’t want.
Problem was that the ones Madge inherited were on massive money and happy to collect it even in reserve grade. The Arborist. Love it!
In the past we have had so much trouble in this area. Costing the club huge cap $ and taking up top 30 spots
