WESTS TIGERS NEARING DEAL TO SEND A 2023 HOME GAME TO NZ

The Warriors could be set to play an added game in New Zealand in 2023 according to Stuff NZ.
While the Warriors will play 11 home games in New Zealand for the first time since 2019, they’ll likely get a 12th game at home with the Wests Tigers considering sending one of their fixtures to Hamilton.

The report suggests an agreement is nearing for the Tigers to play their game against the Warriors at FMG Stadium Waikato.

The move comes after the Warriors attempted to lure other clubs across the ditch for 2023 with rugby league fans in New Zealand starved of NRL games since 2020’s COVID outbreak.

The NRL’s fixture is expected to be released in the coming weeks, giving fans in Hamilton plenty of time to prepare if the move is ticked off.

If this move is finalised, the Warriors will officially play nine games at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland and one each in Hamilton, Napier and Wellington.
The Warriors will hope more games at home helps them improve on their 15th-placed 2022 finish where they ended with a win-loss record of 6-18.

if we are taking a home game to NZ if the fans are happy with that then we can't complain when we choose to split game sbetween LO and CSS
Talk about giving an opposition team a leg up for 2023

This club literally gives no shits about winning games. Who cares if NZ missed out during covid. Melb was locked down the longest in the world, send all rounds their way if they want to feel good. It makes no sense. First priority should be 2 points at any legal cost. It’s only one game but shows the mindset of Pascoe and his merry gang of clowns.

The Warriors for sure deserve some charity for the sacrifices they made over the last two years to keep the comp going.
What doesn't make sense is why the NRL doesn't mandate it and instead leaves it to the clubs with a bit of decency to make the effort.
It feels like the NRL has lost soo much of it's soul over the past few years.

Makes sense.
We have always had a presence in NZ.

I can predict the "another home ground" posts.

We got randon home games in;

Tamworth
Bank West
Suncorp @ Magic round
& now NZ.
Haha 6 home ground's and we are hoping to make the top 10 why make it easy the Leyland brothers Tiger's

Surprised Pascoe hasn't put his hand up to play in the states.

The Rabbitohs and Roosters are lukewarm on the ‘Coming to America’ proposal, which would see the NRL stage one fixture for premiership points in the final week of February, before the official round-one kick-off in March.

It is believed the NRL has raised the prospect of a $30,000 financial carrot for any club wishing to play in America, but that is not enough to convince the Broncos to head overseas.
