agree on all fronts. Joffa I think is a great shout for captain. with Doueihi shopping himself around and Sheens not convinced I reckon that's the direction the club will take.

Irrespective of the fact that he was the architect of two of our best ever juniors leaving the club, two guys who recently captained their countries in the world cup and have played finals, origins and received high level awards....

Irrespective of the fact that he purposefully drew out the announcement of their defections until the player market dictated only dregs were still out there to replace them...

I dont think he has been since his first couple of years. Since he decided to be a celebrity, his form plummeted.
Even when he was playing Origin and Tests, he was a lazy, low energy, opportunistic stat padder. By this I mean he never took tough carries. He never exerted himself unless it would be reflective on the sheets. He had the NRL fooled for a couple of years in the way that his stats looked great - therefore he was a great player.
It was all a fake show. He'd end a game with 125m from 13 hit-ups and 32 tackles and get plaudits even though we lost by 22 points. You'd re-watch the game to see who was bludging considering his efforts and find that all of his runs came on the fourth tackle and that 27 of his tackles were third man in flops. people thought he was a tough hard working prop forward and he just wasn't. He'd never take a hit-up after a kickoff. He'd push more skillful players out of the road to take an easy hit-up against retreating defences and die with the ball even though the other player would have looked to promote it to the attackers out wide. He gained a reputation as an excellent off-loader. His stats stated he managed half a dozen a game. They don't mention that nearly every offload hit the ground or went to a player in a worse position who either dropped it, got smashed, or both.

All fans of clubs he has played at mock him. He is not regarded well. His nickname is Sharon for god sakes. No one wants his next contract...perfect Wests Tigers signing. Morons.

Wowa I missed this. How long is he signed for?
 
Wouldn't mind Api being captain - could lead around the boys well with his talk around the middle and has won 2 premierships with 2 teams too..... his experience is underrated

However, the comment he made might've cost him his chance

I've been critical of him so far. He tanked last season and we've only just signed Klemmer. We need more signings. IP and Api were Madge signings.

Things are looking up though. He has to keep it coming and more importantly we have to actually win games next season.

The real work is all the junk he got rid off and players we've resigned

Klemmer and Bateman are no slouches too

It should cost him.
I understand he was pissed and trying to be Mr Cool in front of those domestic violence loving Panthers fans, but fans here have been excited for over a year now that he is coming.
Not leadership material.
