Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

agree, I don't like Moses as a personality but he can play football and goal kicker.

The club is probably banking on friendship with Brooks to get deal across the line and likewise lure of playing with Moses again for Brooks to take a lesser deal (with long service discount of 170k applied)

Problem with Williams is he has a 2 year deal to run at Wigan and if Bateman was a 250k transfer then Williams could be 500k

24 Williams will only have one year left but compo will likely be higher with a HB. Apparently we have plenty of money just ask Pascoe he'll talk your ear off about it.

My take is transfer fees should not be a hindrance to signing good players. They don’t affect the cap and if there’s one thing Pascoe has done well it’s get the clubs external finances in order (booming apparently). We should be using this every way we can to help attract elite talent as attracting recruits traditionally has been a challenge over the last 10 years or so. The off field financial situation should be used to help our on field and I think fans have every right to expect as such.

We could give them Brooks as a swap for next year, that will work

Would be good if we went for Frizzell who's apparently available too

8. Stefano Utoikmano
9. Api Korisau
10. David Klemmer
11. Isaiah Papalil
12. Tyson Frizzell
13. Joe Offaanguae

14. Fonua Pole
15. Alex Twal
16. Aaron Woods
17. Shawn Blore

Don't hate Bateman I think he could provide a lot, however Frizzell is more proven and also available

Matamua into 13. We want to make the most of the experience we have around him next year. He is a great talent. Ofahengaue does really well for us at prop.

Wouldn't Brooks leaving have done the same?
Brooks is older than Hastings.
I can only see Hastings and Newcastle being the only winners here.
I think this has the potential to end very badly for them given the rumours of issues at Newcastle and Jacko’s rep with team mates. I hope I’m wrong for his sake because I like the guy but the odds of him and Gamble having a dust up during pre season must be pretty short.

Just thought i would play the fox in the chicken coup.

Brooks, AD, Laurie, and Stains, all only signed for 2023. I;m surprised they did not sign Stains for longer, I think he will be our fullback eventually. If they don't extend Laurie and AD, the crying for Hastings will seem trivial, slit writs everywhere !

Very good player... however allowing him to play some early NSW cup games to get his body ready and confidence up then slowly implement him in the team might be the best route to take especially as a starting 13

That's a possibility. Sheens is likely to give the youngsters ago if they impress.

Fixed it for you mate i saw the mistake and had to correct it asap 🤣

Ouch

CEO Justin Pascoe says the club has identified a clear recruitment and retention plan, one that is being executed aggressively. As a club we are obviously not satisfied that we finished last in 2022 and tough decisions need to be made,” said Pascoe.
Why did it take Pascoe 10 years to wake up to what was needed as far as recruitment and retention.
Looks like he was asleep at the wheel or hoodwinked by coaches and player agents.
When you look back over the last 10 years or so there has been some shocking signings.
