Joey is still employed by Newie as their halves whisperer. He spoke as recently as yesterday about how he has been working with Ponga helping him transition to 5/8 and how he looks forward to working with Jackson.

Jai my bro long time no see 🥂

“As a club we are obviously not satisfied that we finished last in 2022 and tough decisions need to be made," said Tigers boss Justin Pascoe.

Not everyone will be happy with some decisions we make, but we do not apologise for these decisions.”

That sounds pretty close to linking the spoon with Hastings’ performances this season, which I don’t know if it’s deliberate or not but I would sure be stung by it.

That's funny because
Jacko being likeable or not, his Efforts contributed massively to the FEW games Tigers did win.
That's stretching a long bow imo... Another case of 2+2=7

I agree with the readers poll result, which shows the majority of readers believe that , if this was a swap deal, then Knights got the better end of the deal.
While I’ve often wondered why the term “leadership” is given lip service at WT, and we often move on players who show signs of leadership, some how this appears different.
Knights need a Hastings, we need a mongrel pack. Signing Klemmer doesn’t quite get us there, but it’s a start.
The last time Brooks worked behind anything which resembled a decent pack, he was awarded DallyM half.

Hey bra how's things? Nice to see you still kicking around here. Felt it was time to make a comeback and see what's been happening. Had a bit of time away as for me the forum was taking a turn for the worst.

Cheers mate, keeping well and also plodding. Yeah exciting times ahead, some Pommy John news today would be a nice way to march into the weekend with.

I think that’s a matter of interpretation. I see your point but don’t necessarily agree they’re linked.
Another view is the type of footy we want to play doesn’t fit with certain players styles.
I’m not sure that anyone would view JHs input as leading us to the spoon. There were so many other factors at play.

I agree. The only thing they've said is Tigers came last and tough changes are necessary to address that.

It doesn't say anything specifically about Hastings, and again I think it goes back to this tiktok/instagram culture of instantly assuming everything is about you (or them) and being upset by insinuation.

Not sure how a strong pack is going to stop him kicking over the dead ball line.
Twice this season. Same as Hastings and same as Madden.
I swear I read someone complain about Brooks kicking dead three times a week on here when the fact is it's just not justified. Find a relevant criticism or you're just making yourself look foolish.
And as others have said, good forwards create time and space for the half to execute his kick so it does in fact help.

Okay, here is my complaint.
Hastings and Madden showed almost as much aptitude as Brooks in 2022. Both have left.
Brooks has failed again and again to organise and muster the team when needed.

Its not a flaw or weakness. I remember when Brooks and Moses were our "turnstyles" Brooks has really worked on this and his personal tackling ability has improved a lot.

His ability to organise the team, SUCKS. It has sucked from day 1, it still sucks and it is Luke Brooks!
This will NEVER ever ever change. Luke Brooks isn't a halfback, Robert Lui would tell Marshall and Farah what to do. Brooks will never tell anyone what to do.

As Mitchell Latrell looked at our team and said "They don't have a spine". Yes, more to the point we have so much disfunction it's due to Brooks. Brooks has a stack of skills, yet needs to get out of Halfback.
