I'm prob wrong but I thought Patty was our kicking coach this year, I thought he returned and is amongst the guys now.
Unless his heart is with Parra, I don’t think he’ll stay. The premiership window for Parra is now shut for at least 5 years before they would be serious contenders again. At this stage we’re offering more money than Parra to get him and from what we’ve heard so far they haven’t budged on the offer. Obviously its due to wanting to retain both halves but if one does walk they might up the offer then but if Moses really wants to win a premiership he ain’t gonna do that at Parra. With how we’ve recruited we have a better chance of winning a premiership before Parra do. Even their own fans on their forum have basically written them off for a long time given who’ve they lost. Not saying that we will get him but if he really wants to win a premiership before he retires Tigers and Bulldogs are better options for him to achieve that than Parra within the next 5 years.
Brooks, has talent, but needs to do a lot more. AD also on big money (signed as fb) and as yet not found a regular position, is the 5/8 on sufferance only. Laurie, like the other two , not a world beater as fb and doubt he will last at 5/8 if tried there. With new coaching staff,and a stronger forward pack, they want to see how they perform,it's that simple. Its the last chance saloon for all three, or at least two, depending on who we buy or develope . Total salaries approx. 2 mii. and others to go as well. That's 2 quality halves, or 1 half , 1 forward and i back etc. So many options. You can bet Sheens and co, will searching far and wide for players. Where it all ends up i have no idea, and most probably either do they.

Interesting how things pan out...the most powerful agent returns. We must have patched up our differences. We get Klemmer and talking to Bateman, Moses, Woods. And we’re hanging on to Brooks.😁

Yeah it's no loss to us. If Parra has to pay an extra 100-200k on top it helps us in recruitment in the future.

Someone on the NBA broadcast commented on a difference between players like Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry/LeBron James.
They are all basketball legends, and the GOATS in their positions, the difference they commented on was that KD plays for fun/love of basketball and Curry/James play to win.
For some time (perhaps from Farah?) we miss players that play to win.

I watched the NZ V Aus game in Wollongong a few years ago. The best I could describe the way NZ played was grey. For the team NZ had on the field, I expected much more although the usual stars such as Manu and Smith performed well.
Seems to me we have had a few big stars come to Tigerland and just don't seem the same .Its like you say goals change from make finals, win premiership, play SOO and other rep footy to now in back third of their career get good salary 2 or 3 years and no pressure
I really hope Api and Isaiah don't fall into this category

In my eyes it's win, win. We get our guy or we knock competition from any future signings, remember we offered about 1.1 - 1.2 a year including kpa's according to Buzz. So that's a loose figure but I'd reckon about 1.1. If the Eels sign Moses they'll loose Brown for sure or completely stuff their cap on their halves, iv heard the dolphins are going in for 1.25 for Brown. So even if he remains at Parra they've got about 2.1 mil invested in the halves plus 850 - 900k for Gutho. Just those 3 alone would take up close to a third of the cap, leaving 27 players on 2/3 of what's left. If they both stayed it would be a nightmare juggling act for them to maintain a top team, they could only afford one good prop, second rower and back and the rest journeymen or juniors.

I didn't understand how Moses affected Bateman coming but apparently if Moses doesn't come they will front load Batemans contract next year if Moses does come then they will restructure Batemans deal so we can get both of them under the cap next year the club and manager are working through it atm. Apparently they both have the same manager Moses relative, he's slime but if it hurts Parra then he's OK. That's according to the media though.
