Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

In this day and age it’s very hard to buy premierships I’m looking forward to seeing how the to different approaches go

Our approach develop young jrns then recruit the odd high end player here and there

There approach by the best talent on the market

Agreed, me too. Have a feeling that
Gus is going to screw their cap up
like Raelene Castle, Dib & Dez did b4.

The cap audits are finished now aren’t they? At least until July?
I don’t understand why the NRL isn’t constantly aware of any breaches, since they register all contracts?

Because the breaches are hard to detect.

It the jobs for family members, conveinient private sponsorships etc that are hard to police.

I recall Wendell Sailor saying on MMM that mortgages of broncos players would recieve random deposits.

Does anyone believe it's a even competition?

I was talking to my doctor a few weeks ago (Marty Roebuck former Rugby fullback) and he took Braidon Burns under his wing for a year while he was a boarding student at Stanies College in Bathurst and was a friend of Marty’s son.
Sounds like his footy talent helped him a lot, guessing scholarships to those private schools.
Amazing he has such positivity after being surrounded by what he was seeing growing up

Backup to their top 17 is pretty ordinary - injuries to a couple of key players will see the hype wear off. Its crazy that we are being touted as a bottom 4 side by most media but they are being considered as a shoe in for top 8 with a top 30 roster that is no better than ours.

It will never be even in that sense while there are more millionaires in the eastern suburbs than there are in Campbeltown.
I suppose we can even it up by playing the off field game. Make the club more popular? More docos etc. Have a single easily identifiable entity, well organised and managed ,one which adds value to a business bottom line.
We’re showing signs that we’re heading in that direction, but every now and then we do something stupid like hire a coach (JT) who has a track record of causing friction.

How many care about rugby league though. I have a bunch of family that live there and they are wealthy and their friends are wealthy.

They don't care about league at all.

Mamaulo tries hard but lacks the essential ingredient which is pace. I don't view him as a Sheens style winger. We know with Fifita how Sheens deals with loose units so if Nofoaluma is not on his game I'm sure there will be consequences.
But, but, but… Mamaulo was Dally M Winger of the Year in 2019.
Sorry paws… couldn’t help myself 🤪

We all know the system is rorted. Is made that way. $ is king and always will be. Hec even I could come up with ideas to be the system. It’s that easy tbh. And all clubs including the NRL. If I was to be cheeky I would even go as far as to say that perhaps some clubs even get advice how to do so. But remember one thing…the most important….$ can’t buy heartlege!!! A champion team will beat a team of champions! Let’s go Tigers….be that Champion Team …. You have it in you!!!!

That’s the point I was trying to make. A third party doesn’t need to care about RL, NRL or a particular club. Gosh, I was considering sponsoring a different club than WT because it suited my goals.
Dogs are doing great at recruitment most likely because of Gould’s rich mates. Probably same rich mates who backed him to bail out Panthers. Where’s their club loyalty?

Tigers coach Tim Sheens has tipped young gun Jahream Bula to challenge for the No.1 jersey in a three-way battle with incumbent Daine Laurie and star recruit Charlie Staines.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported Sheens believes Bula can leapfrog Laurie, who has also been training in the halves and Staines, who is also being considered as a winger at some stage during the 2023 season.

“Jahream Bula will be a kid who comes out of nowhere,” Sheens told The Herald.

More to the story but basically talks about basketball and that. Anyone seen him at training? Fast?
